Thanks guys. Sorry for the late reply...been kinda busy, lol.
I WILL get pics up soon. I am picky about photos, and she won't really let them out of her sight long enough to take their pics, so I'm gonna have to get them in the box. I wanted to wait until I could keep the box clean for the pics; she's still bleeding a bit and it looks icky. I know, I know...I am so superficial.
She and the pups are doing phenomenally well. I can't believe that they are all so uniform, healthy, and active. There is not even one that I was keeping a special eye on; picking out the strongest is going to be a challenge.
The sable male was the loudest one day, but either he's settled down or the others have decided that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. They are ALL loud. He is a Momma's Boy though. He is always passed out on her front leg. They are already starting to fall into patterns; it's really interesting to watch.
There are 2 with simply monstrous heads; other than that, they are all the same size and I can't really tell the sables apart at all, except the male (duh). 2 are kind of normal black sable and 3 are super dark black sable; I actually thought 2 were bi-colors at first b/c they were black but had light fur under their tails. Now I see that they are actually going to be sables...should be gorgeous.
Capri is looking SOOOO good. I can't believe how gorgeous she looks. You can't even tell just glancing at her that she just delivered 9 pups. She is getting cabin fever. Now, when they are all fed and cleaned and asleep, she finds me and wants to do something. She's not really a lie-in-a-box-all-day kind of dog. She is a great mother, esp. for a first-timer w/so many pups. How she keeps perfect track of who has been fed and who needs to be cleaned and who can just sleep is amazing. Every single one of them is being fed equally. I haven't intervened at all.
She is very protective, which I expected. She almost went through the screen to get to Qira, who peeked in the door from outside, and she left a lovely 1/4-1/2" puncture in my Dad's arm. That'll teach him to get that close! He was cleaning the box out and moved the rag too fast too close to the pups. He is staying there for a few days so I can go to work. Capri needs to go out every few hours and I work way too long. It wouldn't be fair to leave her that long right now. She wouldn't let anyone else near them at all, so having a neighbor just check in on her occasionally is out.
Anyway, those are the updates for all of you who have asked. I am planning on taking a few pics tonight; I'll have my Dad take Capri out and entertain her while I sneak a few of the pups, and then I'll get some of her w/them, also.
I only have 2 males, and right now, they are both spoken for. I would like to keep a male, but it doesn't look like it's in the cards. Honestly, it would be hard for me to decide which one I wanted to keep at this point. They're all about the same. I am not planning on keeping one; I wish I could, but as some of you know, I have WAY too much going on right now personally to add another dog. It sucks, too, b/c I kind of designed this litter exactly how I wanted it, and it's probably my only shot at an import breeding, and I can't even keep one. Oh well.
