Hi there, does anyone have a sable male around the age of 8 months to two years available? I would prefer to buy a dog that has strong obedience training and some bitework. I'm not looking for sport, I'm leaning more towards working dogs. Anyways, please contact me and I'll go into more detail about what I'm looking for.
I used to be partial to sables but after going to many dog trial, seminars etc.. I found that their are many other beautiful GSD of different patterns, also at 8 months they should not have "bite work" that is a bit young, maybe a foundation to the bite work, sacking and such.I also PM you with a kennel that has beautiful sables and are hard working dogs if you want to peek at it. But don't just pick a sable just for the sake of having a sable ,look at the pedigree and the ability of the dog. Good luck
I send you a website from dogs that I saw coming to our club for evaluation. The individuals bought those dogs for PPD and we saw very good dogs out of that breeder for that purpose.I also send you the breeders' web site I got my red sable from. You can also see my sables on my photo link http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/cadogancna/?sc=3
I have 2 black sables and one red sable ,the red sable is just 10 months of age.not done changing his coat color yet.
I have 3 sables and I am looking too add a bi color soon(in a year)if things go well. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
good luck !

I agree with Al, especially since you can get great sables in working lines. The only time I am alarmed with people who want a particular color is when they want something weird or not accepted in the standard like pandas, blues, reds, or whites.
Susan,
I agree with you .Since I do have 3 sables I do like them. But also the pedigree in the sable dog your are buying.A sable dog does not mean it is best at..just by it's color cause I sure have seen some that would beat their owners to the car when pressure came at protection. Their are great sables with great pedigrees. That is important. At least to me.
