Give your dog a good and enjoyable experience! With the Buster Cube your dog can use his natural instincts. Let the game begin and enjoy a happy and more active dog.

Give your dog a happy and active life! When you use the Buster Cube for your dog or puppy it forces them to use their brain. This keeps your dog occupied and therefore decreases the chance for behavioral problems to arise. Your dog is more content.

Options

Medium 5" cubed, for dogs 22 pounds and up.

Directions

  1. Put dry treats into the cube through the opening.
  2. Turn the cube to distribute the food into the various compartments inside.
  3. Turn the central cylinder in the cube to adjust the level of difficulty.

Fill the center hole with dry treats, place your hand over the hole and shake the cube. Do this as many times as necessary to fill the cube to the desired level. (It is important that when first using the cube that there is sufficient treats in the cube so that the dog is rewarded quickly and often.) Please remember if you are allowing your dog to have access to several treats from the BusterĀ® Cube a day, that you should modify his daily feeding amounts to avoid excessive weight gain and to keep your dog or puppy at a healthy weight.

Cleaning Instructions

The center cylinder can be removed for cleaning purposes.

  1. Put your right thumb into the hole of the cylinder and turn it towards MAX.
  2. Turn counter-clockwise again until you hear a click sound.
  3. Now it is possible to extract the cylinder.

When replacing the cylinder please note that the tabs on the cylinder are three different sizes and should be placed into the three slots of corresponding sizes in the opening of the cube.

Turn the cylinder clockwise towards MIN. When you hear the click sound then the cylinder is back in place and will turn only between MIN and MAX.

Safety

No toy is 100% indestructible. It is unrealistic to expect that from any toy. The toys that we sell at Leerburg are the best quality and most durable that we have found. Always supervise your dog when playing with toys. Periodically inspect all toys for damage. Do not allow your dog to continue to play with a damaged or broken toy.

This is how we feed dry food to our dog and it keeps her busy and entertained for quite some time. She seems to really enjoy it.

So far, the only damage seems to be some tiny nicks here and there. We expect this to last a good long time. If it does become damaged, we absolutely would get another.

The only issue we have is keeping it clean. I've been able to get the cylinder out but there is no way to get to the nooks and crannies on the inside. Soaking the whole thing in hot water for an extended period and then shaking vigorously seems to help but you'll need to repeat that process a few times. Even then, you can't be sure there aren't some "lurking horrors" in the corners.

I love watching my dog play with this toy! She has so much fun rolling it around in hopes a goodie will come out. For a natural born chewer, this toy is ever so slightly frustrating to Sam, but I like that it encourages her to work for her reward.

Just beware: your dog will bark up a storm if this toy gets under the furniture!

My dog loves this toy. And I loved it as well. But unfortunately, the top never screwed on right. I found it very hard to close it properly. It seems that the grooves on the top don't match the grooves inside the toy. The 2nd time I used it, the lid got stuck and it took a lot of time and effort ( and sore thumbs and fingers) to open it again. I used it a 3rd time, and we've not been able to open it since. Consequently, the toy is unusable. Too bad, because otherwise, it's a great toy which kept my dog active and entertained.

I purchased the 3" buster cube for my doberman over 5 yrs ago. We use it often, I fill with Instinct 'limited ingredient' kibble. I have since got another doberman and now the 2 of my girls leave me alone in the morning when I want to have my 'coffee time' without being pestered. It keeps them busy for a good 10 to 15 min each time I put about 1/4 cup of kibble in them. They are very easy and quick to fill, and you only need to put a small amount in them. GREAT PRODUCT! MY dobermans are chewers and have NOT damaged these a bit. One of my girls is a possessive dog, and finishes emptying hers before the younger dog. She then steals the other cube one from the younger. I have just purchased a LARGE one (5") and give that to the younger girl now. MY thief can't get her mouth around the big one to pick it up and steal it, so both are happy now. The regular Instinct Limited ingredient kibble works well in both sizes of buster cube.

I purchased a Buster Cube for my Australian Shepherd in 2001, when I first adopted him from a breed rescue group. Now he is 14 1/2 - every evening after his supper, we play "Where's the Cube" - he finds the Cube, nudges it with his nose, then I fill it with kibble. He pushes it around the house with his nose until it's empty. The Cube is still in good shape after 13 years of daily use, although it has lots of surface scratches. I think that is as close to an indestructible toy as we have ever owned. We're going to get his little brother, a mini-Aussie his very own Cube as he is very curious about his big brother's toy.
