I use these for hi viz for 2 Portuguese Podengo's. Because they are brindle, they are near impossible to see. The Hurtta vest is a good fit and makes them easy to see.

*** I ordered this vest for my Aussie mix girl because we travel a lot and I thought she and I would both be safer at night in rest areas and truckstops if we were highly visible. It looks great, fits snug, and she runs and plays ball without noticing it’s even on. I saw some reviews were concerned about the zipper not staying closed the last inch. Relax- because there is a snap right there too, the zipper going back up an inch does not matter at all. We are very pleased with this product so far and look forward to our next RV trip with it.

Just delivered today and so far, definitely 5 stars!! Super pleased with fit and quality!! It'll be great for warmth on colder mornings or in winter months and super for visibility. Blitzen doesn't mind wearing it at all and I think it looks pretty awesome on top of the functionality! Blitzen is 75 lbs and I can't remember his neck and girth off top of my head, but he's bigger for a Mal. Ordered an xl and it is the fit he needs. I know Leerburg is discontinuing this product so we're glad we got ours!

Not the right vest if your dog doesn't like his feet touched...
The construction is excellent but my dog does not like his front feet/legs touched and it is a struggle to get his legs through the holes (and keep them there) until the vest is zipped up.

Excellent vest. Just enough to keep my Duke warm. It has great visibility, the quality of the jacket is excellent too. The zipper is easy to engage and also made of top quality. Another great product for German Shepherds from Leerburg.

LOVE this vest!

I have a plush-coated GSD that I do Search & Rescue with. During the winter, her coat collects ice in the fur on her chest, and the fur gets wet. I worry about her becoming chilled from the wet fur and wind. Also, I worry about training during hunting season, in the woods.

This vest has solved both issues and more.

I love the fit of the vest. It is snug but not tight. The last inch or so of the zipper does not like to stay zipped, but the flap of material underneath the zipper prevents exposure when this happens, and it is never more than that inch. I wouldn't even call that a complaint, because it is such a minor issue and does not cause a problem. I only mention it in the interest of a full, honest review.

The material on this vest is wonderful: lightweight but it offers warmth and reduces wind. The material is water resistant on the outside, and the inside is like the inside of sweatshirt material. Visibility is great. The vest is highly reflective. I also really like the coverage of this vest. It does not bunch or ride up on the chest or back.

My girl has blown her coat for her heat cycle, so I have been using the vest on very cold days, even without snow. Beyond my original hope of reducing icy fur, the vest has also reduced burrs.

She is very comfortable in it and it does not affect her movement at all.

Hunter orange offers visibility and safety.

Vest is very easy to put on and take off of the dog, and can be put on without the hassle of tangling with leashes.

I have this vest for my truffle hunting dog and love it! She wears it out in the woods and the bright color really helps her be more visible and the sleek fit keeps it from getting caught on anything-she is pretty bold bounding through through the brush and jumping downed branches, no snags! It washes well too.
