Everlasting Fun Ball
|
Everlasting Treat Balls provide your dog with hours of chewing fun. Made of soft yet durable puncture resistant material, it will hold up to even the toughest chewers and the unique design allows it to wobble and roll around on its own. It's great for preventing destructive boredom behaviors or simply keep your dog happily occupied. You can even hide it around your house or yard for a game of doggie hide and seek with a tasty reward at the end.
Here at Leerburg Kennels, we have found that dogs do different things with the treat balls. Some dogs can get the treat out in a few minutes, while others take days or weeks to get them chewed out. When the dogs get the treats out so fast, we have experimented with the empty balls. We have filled the hollow inside of the balls with peanut butter or yogurt and frozen it. We have also left the balls empty and found that the dogs still love to roll it around and play with it. If your dog gets the treats out quickly, we encourage you to experiment with what your dog would like.
The Everlasting Treat Balls come in Chicken Flavor, but you can buy different flavored Treat refills for the Everlasting Treat Ball. The refills can be fed without the balls as a weekly treat as well.
Dishwasher Safe.
Be advised that if your dog is an AGGRESSIVE chewer no toy is indestructable. Just because this toy is named the EVERLASTING TREAT BALL does not mean there are dogs out there that cannot chew the toy up. While we have not had this happen we always caution dog owners.
Dogs that are aggressive chewers should not have any toys left with them. There are dogs that can chew up anything. Owners who buy these dogs toys and leave them unattended are risking their dogs swallowing parts of a toy and having a bowl obstruction. A bowl obstruction is either going to kill your dog or result in surgery that can easily cost $1,000.00 In the case of this toy we have only heard of one dog that chewed up the toy.
No toy is 100% indestructible. It is unrealistic to expect that from any toy. The toys that we sell at Leerburg® are the best quality and most durable that we have found. Always supervise your dog when playing with toys. Periodically inspect all toys for damage. Do not allow your dog to continue to play with a damaged or broken toy.

Figured I'd share some pictures of our two dogs enjoying their treats.
The little one, Woofles, hasn't quite figured out how to get the treat out of the ball yet; his method is to lick at it like a lollipop until enough dissolves that it just falls out. He can be a tricky dog to buy for as he has weird, weird fears (We got him one of the 'egg' balls, since he likes to chase things, but he was TERRIFIED of it. I took it out of the box and he ran to his crate with his tail tucked. After a few attempts to get him used to it, and with our other dog's disinterest in it, I gave it to a friend who has a beagle mix. Her dog just loves it.) of, well, of a lot of odd things, so it's nice to find a toy that isn't plush and doesn't terrify him.
The Elkhound, Tilly, figured it out in about 20 minutes (not surprising, she's the dog that can muscle through a deer skeleton like it was butter), but her jaw was so tired from the hard work of that and of eating the treat she got out, that she tends to leave the other half for another day. We've found, with her, it lasts longer if we freeze it after putting the treats in. She has to work harder to get them out. Tilly is difficult to find toys for; most she just ignores, including most 'guaranteed to catch their interest' sorts. This one, however, she just loves.

Ed,
The only problem with the everlasting treat balls is that I can't get the dog's out of their crates long enough to walk them. They are too busy chewing on the everlasting treats. After an hour my younger dog got one treat OUT OF THE BALL. He was so intent on it. I would say this is a unqualified success. Thanks for separating the wheat from the chaff.

Our first refill kept our Malinois busy for about 2 weeks! Looking forward to seeing how long it takes her this time. She loves to play even with the empty treat ball.

Hi,
My mutt instantly fell in love with the Everlasting Treat Ball. The GSD took a little longer but now they both really like it.
I think the refill treats are kind of expensive, so they are just for special occasions. But they love it anyway when it has some good treats inside!
Regards,
Bob

Hi Ed, Just got the everlasting treat ball to day. I got the medium size for dogs under 40 pounds. I have a GSD pup. When this dog gets biger do I really have to switch to the large? Can a big dog swallow a medium size? Even the medium are good size. I will switch if I have to but these toys are a little high price. What do you think? Do you let your dogs chew on the medium size? Please write back. Thanks, Ray |

I wish it was as simple as YES or NO. But its not. I think you need to know your own dog. Some dogs are chewers. You need to figure this out. I would not leave a chew toy alone with a dog until I was 100% sure he was not going to destroy it and/or eat it. That's just as dangerous as swallowing it. Having surgery is far more expensive than a large toy. Take it from us – one of our dogs got a bone last week and ate part of it. Had to have surgery to get it out. Regards, Ed Frawley |
