If you are around bite work long enough, you will eventually see dogs that simply “will not” out. Nothing their handler does can persuade the dog to release, not prong collar corrections, not remote collar corrections.
We get emails from handlers of these kind of dogs on a regular basis asking “what can be done to fix this problem?” The majority of people who write have bought these dogs and are now seeing the problem.
Schutzhund is a dog sport that was designed for breeders to measure the working ability of their dogs. The information gained from a schutzhund trial is to be used as a tool in selecting breeding partners. Here in America the sport of schutzhund is well organized and run by Schutzhund USA

The process of getting a fast DOWN IN MOTION begins on the first day of training the Down. In this article I will only talk about training in drive here. I assume that those reading this post understand what training in drive means. When the time comes to train the DOWN the handler puts the dog in high drive for his toy, the dog is given a DEEP STRONG Down command that is accompanied with a strong jerk to the ground, if it is necessary to slam the dog between the shoulder blades with with the palm of the hand to get him to go down this must be done.
The verbal commands contained in this text, must be replaced with the verbal commands used by each National Organization, when translating the rulebook. As soon as these rules become effective, all previous rules become invalid. If this is a translation, the original German text is binding when in doubt.

While this may not be as descriptive as a full critique, it certainly gives you a good picture of the dog's physical and mental qualities, and this is always useful, particularly when the dog is a few generations removed.
Karl is ONE OF if not THE premier German shepherd breeder in the world. Over the years he has produced 6 VA dogs, won the HGH championship 8 times with 7 different dogs and has produced 2 males that sired bundessiegers. No one has ever done this.
Both started in the early 1900's. Schutzhund and KNPV are great European dog sports. Schutzhund originated in Germany and the KNPV began in Holland.
Schutzhund was started by Amax Avon Stephanitz who is the founder of the German Shepherd breed. He designed the sport of schutzhund to be used as a tool by breeders.
Many people purchase German imported German Shepherds. When the pedigree arrives it's written in German. This table is designed to help these people understand a little of their pedigrees.
This table was constructed by M. Plonsky, Ph.D. Mark is a psychology professor at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. He has an excellent dog training website here.
