GoughNuts pet toys are designed to address the simple but serious issue of SAFETY. The GoughNuts chew toys are designed knowing that safety and fun go hand in hand. Each GoughNuts pet toy has included in it's design the GoughNuts patent pending visual safety indicator where Green means "Go" and Red means "Stop."

GoughNut Black

GoughNuts Black is our most popular chew toy as most dog owners that have a power chewer want the strongest available. This toy is stronger and more durable than our Original Green GoughNut. The GoughNuts Black incorporates the original GoughNuts green but then adds carbon technology to enhance performance. GoughNuts Black is reccomended for extreme chewers.

Below is a test comparison between our GoughNut Black and our Original GoughNut Green. Please understand that regardless of how strong any chew toy is made, certain dogs will chew through it. Therefore, our two layered patent pending safety design is incorpoporated in our GoughNuts Black. The two layered patent pending design gives a clear indication when the Goughnut Black turns color from Black to Red it is time to take the GoughNut Black away from your dog. Every GoughNut toy is guaranteed and when any red is seen, this indicates that the diameters of the toy are damaged.

Please note that the The Original GoughNut has a cross section of 1.75". Physical properties shown below are measured in PSI or pounds per square inch.

The test results shown follow ASTM methods D412, D2240, & D624 (seen in sections 9.01 & 9.02)

The GoughNuts Black properties are higher. The hardness will hold your dogs jaw open more than the Green taking leverages away that lessen the dog's power. The higher tear strength and tensile strength testing show the GoughNut Black increase in physical properties.

Our goal is safety. The additional of carbon technology incorporated with the GoughNuts base recipe allows for the additional strength of the GoughNut Black. Please adhere to the two layered patent pending technology. Please take your GoughNut away if your dog can chew through the Black or Green layer to expose the Red.

GoughNut Ball

The GoughNuts Ball bounces well, floats, and we hope is a toy your dog will enjoy playing with. This is an interactive toy as the GoughNuts Ball is not designed as a chew toy. If your dog is left to chew it will attack the grooves and if you have a power chewer, it will destroy GoughNuts Ball.

The Ball is designed with a multi-axis groove system that may help your dog breathe in an emergency situation of throat Blockage. Spherical objects or balls can be a safety hazard for the reason of throat blockage. Please check out our GoughNut Grooves in the picture and at your local GoughNuts team retailer.

GoughNut .75

GoughNut .75 is designed for the small to medium size dog. When sizing a chew toy please be sure that the chew toy appears large in the dogs mouth. In general the GoughNut .75 is designed for a dog that is 10 pounds to 45 pounds in weight. However, if your medium or even your small dog is a heavy chewer please consider the Original GoughNut.

The Original GoughNut seen on the far left is 5 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 1 pound. The GoughNut .75 is 3.75 inches in diameter and weighs less than one half of a pound.

GoughNut Sticks

Your dog will love the GoughNuts Stick. He can fetch on land or water. Like all GoughNuts, the stick floats.

The dimensions of the GoughNuts Stick are 9.25 inches long with a 1.75" cross section. We have proved that the 1.75 inch cross section in combination with our durable rubber holds up to 99% of the power chewers out there. However, realize that the GoughNuts Stick is more vulnerable to damage versus the original GoughNut donut shape. Please consider our original donut shaped GoughNut design and our newest GoughNuts Maxx if your dog is an extreme power chewer.

GoughNuts Guarantee

If your dog chews through the outside wear layer, Green or Black, to expose the indication layer, Red, GoughNuts will replace your toy. GoughNuts patent pending, "Chew Toy Safety Indicator" is a mechanism for the dog owner to see a clear indication of when to take the GoughNut from the dog.

This return or guarantee policy is one of our commitments to your dogs safety. Please do not allow your dog to continue chewing the GoughNut if red is indicated. The safety premise is designed to give clear indication to show when the toy is damaged and is and instruction or indication to take the GoughNut away from the dog. Following this instruction or visible indication is a design to help prevent intestional blockage. Intestional blockage is a serious safety issue and in worst case scenarios can kill your dog.

In general a chew toy is designed to withstand the aggresive chewing of your dog. The GoughNut is designed with diameters that are sized to make it difficult for your dog to destroy or damage the GoughNut. It is important to know that manufacturing like life is not perfect. Therefore whether a chew toy has a defect or your dog simply has the power to destroy a toy, as soon as the original design of the toy is compromised the toy must be taken away from the dog. This instruction will help keep your dog safe.

Any red indication is an indication to take the toy away. We will only congratulate you for taking the toy away when the samllest amount of red is present. Many dog owners have followed our patent pending instruction showing us that the premise is working. Please make every effort to keep your dog safe. No chew toy is indestructable.

Safety, Safety, Safety - We want your damaged GoughNut back. This is our investment into your dogs safety. Every dog owner has the responsibility to check the toys that your dog is chewing. All toys should be taken away when damaged to help prevent blockage. Please contact me or your veterinarian for further discussion.

Correct sizing is as important as any safety feature. Choose a chew toy that is big in your dogs mouth. The chew toy should appear large in your dogs mouth. When you have a doubt about what size to choose, please ask a pet professional for help. As a rule make sure the chew toy is larger in size than the distance between your dogs back molars when measuring across the jaw.

GoughNuts Patent

The purpose of the GoughNuts patent idea is to change pet chew toy technology for dogs and other pets so that the possibility of blockages (from ingestion of chew toys) in a pet’s digestive track will be lessened or eliminated.

By implementing the GoughNuts visual indicator within the chew toy itself, pet owners can clearly see if the pet toy’s integrity has been compromised. This indication will be clearly visible if the pet (typically a dog) chews from one color to the next. The basic colors known throughout the world, “Green for Go” and “Red for Stop” will be used.

The product instruction states that if or when the pet chews through the green thickness where by the red indicating “Stop” color is seen, the pet owner should return the product to the manufacturer for replacement. If the pet owner does not want to return the chew toy for replacement then the pet owner should throw the toy in the garbage. As stated above, if or when the red color is seen (assumes a pet has chewed through the green), this is an indication that the toy design has been compromised and is no longer safe for the pet to use as a chew toy.

In order for the “Goughnuts Safety Indicator” to be functional the chew toy itself has to have real indestructible quality. This real indestructible quality will allow for enough time for the pet owner to be able to see a “Safety Indicating Color Change” before the chew toy’s integrity can be compromised.

Virtually Indestructible - Many companies claim it, GoughNuts guarantees it. Every GoughNuts toy has been designed by Mechanical and Polymer Engineers. Understanding leverages that are present in the jaws of a dogs mouth and relying on 60 years of rubber technology has resulted in an indestructible toy. If your pet can chew through the Green to expose the Red, GoughNuts will replace your toy free of charge.
