These leather collars are made of the finest quality latigo leather and are handmade by the Amish. The stitching is all reinforced. These collars are built to last a lifetime. We love to use this type of collar for off-leash protection training. Your leash can come off and you can still securely hold your dog before releasing them. We have also found that we like this collar with handle for Agitation work and also for Search & Rescue. The standup handles are tough and durable and the collar fastens with a heavy duty buckle.

Leerburg leather products are works of art.

The cow hides used to make all of Leerburg's leather are hand selected for Leerburg before tanning. We need and use the thickest hides available. Our hides go through over 85 steps in a tanning process that takes over a month. There are many types of Latigo leather that are made in Mexico, India, or Pakistan, but none can compare to the quality of Leerburg’s Latigo leather.

Once tanned, our Leerburg Leather is delivered to the Amish family that crafts our leather products right here in Wisconsin. This family has been making all of our leather products for the past 20 years.

These 5 Amish craftsmen hand cut, sew, pop-rivet, and tailor all of our leather products. We have yet to come across another leather product that measures up to our products' quality.

100% of Leerburg leather products are made in Wisconsin. We don't use leather from India, Pakistan, or Mexico.

Similar Collars

We carry leather collars with handles that are 2" wide and 1" wide.

Our Amish leather products are made with American-made leather that is stained using natural oils and dyes. There is a possibility that some color may transfer from leather products. We recommend that you use discretion when using this product with lighter colored clothing and dogs.

Please keep in mind when ordering that all of our leather collars are handmade. We try to be as exact as possible with the sizes and colors, but variances do occur.

lucky me, I live down the road from the amish guy that makes these awsum collars, I have five of them, for the three mastiffs i have, this collar is by far the best i have ever had. I looked all over for a size 34 to fit on my big guy.

This collar is worth the cost- likely double what it's being sold for. We use this collar for an ADA service-dog with a light 3' leash tethered to handler's belt with quick-release breakaway. I will order more soon. Thank you Leerburg!
* Maybe I'll upload a short video or a few photos soon while using collar over Independence Day.

Amazing quality in the leather work. Very satisfied with the quality in the leather. I got the XXL collar because I have a very large Great Dane. Couldn’t be more happier with the quality and how it fits. Amazing product for sure. Defiantly recommend this collar!

These collars are spectacular! I have been debating for a long while about getting custom leather collars for my two rescued Coonhounds. One is a Bluetick, she is a senior, and has zero issues walking, I just wanted to get her a great collar. So I got her the 1" collar in black (there is a picture and a review there as well). The other is a Redtick, recently rescued, and he is 2 years old & incredibly strong. And very much a puller on the leash! I was happy to find a 2" wide collar with a handle. I can't speck to the type of training this kind of collar is normally used for, as he is a companion-type dog, but it will definitely be more comfortable and safer on his neck while teaching the maniac to walk better.

I'm glad I went with Leerburg - the other ones I was considering were well made, but they were more like vanity leather collars - fancy colors and stones with their names and such. Although they were pretty, I honestly have to say that I like these better and I made the right decision. These collars will survive both dogs and will go on to the next generation and probably the ones after that - so I'll have to put them in my will!

The only thing I have to do is get them just a tiny bit shortened, as the end of the collar flops out a bit too much on both dogs. But I expected having to do that, especially with the Redtick because his neck is very long (he is gangly) and he is still kind of skinny. Getting them trimmed is no big deal at all, I know a shoe guy who is local. These collars are SO worth getting! You will not regret it.

All the Leather collars at Leerburg are the very BEST I have ever seen, you might get a more expensive collar somewhere else, but there is no place after searching dog collars for many years on the 25 biggest sites with dog web sites & NO Leather is better than a Leerburg one.......

And the service is great - after a different dog co. I tried but after 6 dasy they took my money and my stuff NEVER left their warehouse... Took a week to credit my card after I cancelled for there.

Thanks Leerburg for being an Honorable on-line store for people who care for pets with a passion.

This collar is the BEST!! I've been looking everywhere for a good agitation collar with a handle and after many failures, I finally found this collar. The leather is soft and beautiful and the collar looks classy on my dog. Thank you for such a great product!
