Leerburg's prong collar leash is made with super-grip biothane. This leash is designed to have one leash connected to two collars: a prong collar and a back-up collar. Our super-grip biothane offers excellent gripping (wet or dry) at a time when it is needed the most.

The little bumps on super-grip biothane are built into this biothane resulting in a soft reliable grip, no matter the weather or application. This is a leash you can grip without having it slip through your hands, with or without gloves.

With a background in police K-9 work, Ed Frawley designed this style of prong collar leash over 25 years ago. In the last couple of years we have started to offer our prong collar leash in super-grip biothane.

Every trainer that uses a prong collar must understand that prong collars can and do come apart. This always happens when the dog gets a correction and the prong collar is too loose. It has not been sized correctly for their dogs neck size. This basically means the collar has too many links in it, which results in it hanging loosely on it's neck.

What this really means is the dog is doing something that warrants a correction, which it gets. However, if the collar comes apart, what that happens the handle finds his or her dog off leash at a time when it is being disobedient? The solution to this problem is to ALWAYS size their prong collar correctly and have a backup collar on the dog when it is wearing a prong collar. This will ensure the dog is still on-leash if the prong comes apart.
