This is a picture of Akim, who served 7 years as a Contract Working Dog and spent his working career in Afghanistan as an Explosive Detection Dog and also for protection/patrol. I met him in Afghanistan and retired him back to the USA!

8 year old border collie Belle (Elite 2, National Association of Canine Scent Work) chases 3 year old border collie Ry (Human Remains Detection, McLean County Illinois Emergency Management Agency K9 Operations Team, AKC Tracking Dog) during the first snow of the season. I'm lucky to have them both, they bring me a lot of joy.

After a successful weekend at the Red Canyon KC show in UT, we stopped over at Jakob Lake on the way home for some scenic pics. Pine cones dropping in an otherwise silent forest turned out to be great for getting her attention!

We entered a Barn Hunt trial in Vegas with NO training other than the “hunting” she had done on our property. We Q’d 3 out of 4 for her new RATN title and ended up ranking #16 in the US for the breed. Very proud of her!
