This is a photo of a tug that was left unattended with a young dog (6 to 8 months) for about 20 minutes. Tugs are not chew toys and should never be left with dogs alone. When tugs are used correctly, they last for a very long time. When they are left unattended with a dog they may only last minutes.

This is the perfect size to carry along on walks and impromptu tug secession and just the right amount of stiffness to teach the out command.

I love this 10 inch tug. This tug is firm enough to be a great training tool, like Ed said, for the OUT. But I mostly use it for a reward in all training. It is firm, but slightly bendable. It has a great texture which is easy for pups or adults to grab and hang on to. One of my dobermans doesn't really care for balls (seems impossible doesn't it?) or regular tugs, but LOVES this tug. I can fling it quite a distance with the rope on it, and I also have a couple that I cut the rope off of, to keep it out of the way. Rope or no rope is a choice and this tug give me the option. It fits easily in my back pocket or the pocket on my training vest. Just a good all around tug for anyone to use with training or playing with your dogs.
