Product Description

Designed knowing that safety and fun go hand in hand. Chewbers can be used as a fetch toy, a tug, and even as a portable water dish.

Safety

No toy is 100% indestructible. It is unrealistic to expect that from any toy. The toys that we sell at Leerburg are the best quality and most durable that we have found. Always supervise your dog when playing with toys. Periodically inspect all toys for damage. Do not allow your dog to continue to play with a damaged or broken toy.

I was going n high hopes after reading the reviews esp with other large power chewers having such success. After only a few months of this toy our Cane Corso was finally able to pull this apart along the edges. He pulled a big chunk off of it so it had to be tossed. Going back to the hardened jolly ball for horses as that is the not one he hasn’t been able to destroy. Sad though as this was one of his favorite toys…walked around with it folded in half like a taco most of the time ????

This is the absolutely best flying / tug toy ever. I’ve had mine since 2000. My very hard chewer loved it and could not chew it up. He had destroyed so many others and I was thrilled when I discovered this. The shape is a bit different now, mine are more frisbee like. But I highly recommend this for any dogs who like to run and fetch!! My new girl loves it!

These things are legit. I have a Chewber frisbee that is more traditionally shaped and I got it when I got my dog at 4 months old. He is now 3, and a boxer/g.shepard mix who went through teething and this is honestly the only toy that survived that phase. It is strong as ever and it used almost daily for intense tugging and throwing.

Can't recommend this product enough.

My dog likes toys that have a "give" to them but he is extremely hard on them. He gnawed on the frisbee edge with his back teeth until there was a tear, and then he ripped it off. After the edge was started he used his front teeth to systematically rip off nickel-sized pieces.

Early impressions are good, but probably not a great choice for possessive dogs.

I bought the smaller of the 2 chewber sizes and it is really small - the smallest flying disc I have seen. Easily fits into a pocket and very convenient but probably too small for tug between large hands and large mouths (not a problem for me and my Border Terrier).

The material the chewber is made from is really quite strange. Rather than rubber, it is like a flexible plastic and can be quite slippery to handle when slobbered on. There are 2 layers of this plastic/rubber bonded to each other, with a reinforced edge (some kind of tough inner material around the circumference of the toy). My dog tends to grab this toy with his back scissor teeth rather than canines, which spelled death for all other toys he has done this with, so we will have to wait and see on the durability of this one. Please note the durability guarantee with the chewber is only for 30 days!

It flies reasonably well but when it lands with the dome side up, my dog spends lots of time self satisfying on it (chew chew chew) rather than picking it up and bringing it back to me straight away. Hence probably not best for possessive dogs. It is easy to roll along the ground and moves erratically when used this way so really stimulates his interest in chasing it down.

All in all, I am glad I bought it and it is a fun toy but my search for the perfect flying disc continues...

I have a 2yr old Malinois that loves flying discs, but has a very hard bite, very sharp teeth and a "scissor bite" like a pair of tin-snips. So, even though I do not let her "chew" on her flying toys, and she does not try to destroy them, they seldom last very long before they are damaged past the point of flight. Those "kong" discs don't even last a week...

The chewber is the only flying toy that has lasted for over a year and shows almost no serious signs of damage. It's very flexible and can be rolled and stuffed into a pack or pocket, but it always springs right back to shape and does not get stretched or warped like other flexible rubber or foam discs.

The only trade off is that it's on the heavy side and is also kind of small (in diameter) for it's weight so it does not "float" as well as some larger, thinner discs nor is it as stable in flight (banks sharply when it loses speed / lift). If they made a larger one, with a more conventional shape, I think that it would fly better and I would buy it too. Still, this is the most durable flying disc that I have found so far (and I've tired every one that I could find).

I bought 2 of these thinking I'll have an extra one in case my border collie chews one up. My dog LOVES this frisbee and I love the fact he can bend them when he picks it up off the ground and not tear it. He has a hard mouth-meaning, he bites hard into things when he catches them. Both of the Chewbers are still intact-not torn in any way. They do not hurt his mouth like the plastic ones do when he punctures them. I've bought the kong frisbee and they were too heavy to throw and didn't fly good at all. I don't allow my dog to have this toy as a chew toy. I bought these frisbees almost 2 1/2 years ago and they're still in great shape!!

I just wanted to let you know how much my young dog (a rescue border collie mix) loves the chewber I got from Leerburg. I got a ton of toys for this inexhaustible one-year-old, but I might as well just have got this one. Successful as it is, I was wondering if you plan to carry the "all in one" that I've seen on chewber's website. It claims to be easier to grab and tug with when--um--goopy, which would be a major improvement.

Thanks,
John
