Product Description
Get our widely popular 1" Flat Leather Collar, locally handcrafted by our Amish partners here in Wisconsin. This everyday collar is made out of supple latigo leather. As soon as you receive it, the collar will be soft and flexible enough for your dog to wear with comfort. No more stiff neck braces or itchy collars! As soon as you put this collar on your dog, it'll feel like they've been wearing it for years.
Stitched and riveted, the 1" Flat Leather Collar won't accidentally fall apart on you. You can choose between Stainless Steel or Brass hardware, both of which are of excellent quality. It just comes down to whether you want gold- or silver-colored hardware.

Need a Different Size?
If you have a puppy or very small dog, we recommend the 1/2" Puppy Collar. For small to medium dogs, you can use the 3/4" Leather Collar. Below is a photo of our flat collar widths in 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 1-inch.
Made in the USA
The cow hides used to make all of Leerburg's leather are hand-picked for Leerburg before tanning. We need and use the thickest hides available. Our hides go through over 85 steps in a tanning process that takes over a month. There are many types of Latigo leather that are made in Mexico, India, or Pakistan, but none can compare to the quality of Leerburg's latigo leather.
Once tanned, our Leerburg Leather is delivered to the Amish family that crafts our leather products right here in Wisconsin. Our 4 Amish craftsmen have been making Leerburg leather products since 1990.
These 5 Amish craftsmen hand-cut, sew, pop-rivet, and tailor all of our leather products. We have yet to come across another leather product that measures up to our products' quality.

Beautiful sturdy collar that does not take up a lot of neck real estate like some of the other larger dog collars on the market.
I can't imagine any other collar of such high craftsmanship (extra stitching),aesthetic appeal and strength.LOVE that the brass was brought back! Thank you Leerburg for maintaining such quality.

This is a very durable collar. However my only reservation is that on my dog when properly sized for him there was a 2-2.5 inch flap of extra material that could not be secured resulting in the excess material to be left flapping around instead of lying flat. I would have preferred there be a second strap keeper installed between the buckle and the d-ring to prevent this from occurring. For as much as the collar costs I would have hoped that it had a extra keeper there to provide a more neat appearance.

12 years ago I bought 2 of these collars for my 2 Golden Retrievers. To this day they still wear them. I recently purchased the same collar from Leerburg for my newest member to my family, Paris another Golden Retriever. These collars are just excellent. I would highly recommend these collars along with the matching leash available at Leerburg. Together, they assisted my training efforts in getting Paris not to pull and walk like a lady. Top quality collar, amazing craftsmanship and very strong. I also bought the 3/4 Leather leash for my German Shepherd and the quality of the leash is incredible too. The leather feels nice in my hands, very durable and strong. The customer service Leerburg provides is incredible, shipping costs were far better than competitors and it was much quicker than I expected it to be, even when shipping to Canada. For these reasons, I will forever be a returning customer, as Leerburg never disappoints. Once again, Leerburg comes up on top!
I purchased the Amish leather collar, leash and obedience lead. I'm totally impressed. They are everything that was promised. I have had a terrible time finding a collar that fit well and would not slip, but soft enough not to irritate my dog. It's the softness and flexibility of the leads and collar that I liked the best. Plus it's obvious, that quality workmanship was put into these items. You simply won't find this quality at a chain store like Petco or Petsmart.
Well made, quality leather, quality craftsmanship. If you know anything about Leerburg, you know that Frawley would never put his name on anything he didn't believe in, and the leather collars (and leashes) from Leerburg are all 5 star quality and workmanship. Made to last.
My puppy had gotten old enough that his red nylon reflective Rogz, though still going strong, was starting to look juvenile on him. I don't believe in dressing up dogs (figures that I have one with a very short coat who might actually *need* a jacket!), and I think that a good collar is all the decoration a real dog will ever need. This fabulous collar is exactly what was called for. It is a thick, soft leather, and adds to his good looks without being distracting -- like well-applied makeup or tasteful jewelry on a woman. The brass hardware is SOLID, as in: I seriously have not seen anything of this quality in a long time. I've heard of dogs breaking collars, and I saw it happen a couple of weeks ago, but I fully expect this collar to last the lifetime of my puppy and perhaps beyond -- depending upon whether we choose to retire it or use it for a new dog.
Puppy's neck was on the low side of a medium, so I ordered a medium to make sure he'd have enough room. There was too much loose leather left over when I tightened it properly, so I cut off the excess with a pair of sharp scissors; it doesn't look quite as nice as the original finished edge, but now that it's the right length you don't even see it.
We added a rivet-on brass nameplate, and we've found that plus the brass hardware on the collar is just the right amount of bling. Perfect.
VERY high quality. I've tried a bunch of different collars but always felt like I was making a compromise between strength vs leather softness and looks. This collar is extremely strong, and the leather is the softest you will find.
Leather was a bit stiff at first but after a few weeks of use it softened up to a nice feel. Amazing quality of craftsmanship. Great look for the dog too...
Amazing product with top quality hardware. My four year old boxer will wear this collar for many many years! Leerburg gets it right again!

Top quality collar! These collars are priced at or below the collars I have seen at any pet store I have been to, and are clearly much better quality. I am very happy with this purchase, and when my pup outgrows hers, I will be buying another one of these. Outstanding!
Great quality collars and leashes! Only reason why we're buying is that we have another dog... because they certainly won't wear out!
Your flat leather collars are absolutely stunning and I haven't seen nicer and better leather collars in Switzerland. Not to mention the price. And of course I am anxious for Ed and Mike's heeling DVD!!!

First I want to thank you for all the help that one can get from your web site I just believe that you are The Best.
I have a 6 months old Doberman Pinscher and your site is a tremendous help to me. I ordered lately from you a leash and collar leather. This is the best leash I have ever owned. What a superb quality and great workmanship. In 6 months I spend about $300 in leashes and collars. I discard them all. When I have the best I really don't need the rest and some collars are up to $65.
