Product Description

Welcome to An Introduction to Dog Training with Jeff Frawley! Jeff has been completely immersed in dog training and the dog sport community, as well as police service dog community. He has learned from some of the best dog trainers in America. In this DVD he has done a good job of explaining some of the more complicated behavioral science based training concepts.

This DVD is going to give the basic skill set needed used to communicate and train your dog. The goal of this DVD is to develop a well-mannered dog who enjoys training and understands what you are asking.

The DVD starts by establishing a communication system based on rewards. This is accomplished through a concept known as marker training. Using markers to train our dogs is the foundation for all of the training in this DVD.

Once our dog understands markers we us it to train the recall, which is the most important command you can teach a dog

After the recall, we dive into training a few other simple behaviors, the sit, down, between the legs, and "go to the dog bed". We also teach how to add duration to these behaviors .

Our video briefly covers loose leash walking. This is an optional, yet highly recommended section of the course. We discuss some of the myths behind purely positive dog training and why we it simply does not work in the real world. While we teach with rewards, we are not nieve enough to believe that a dog will always mind when faced with extreme distractions (like another dog)

What's the difference between this course, the DVD, and the stream?
