Product Description

Made in America here in WI. The short (24 inch) stick should only be used to make noise. It is not intended to hit the dog with. Using too short of a stick on a dog runs the risk of hitting the dog in the eyes.

There are 2 types of clatter sticks. The reed type on this page and split bamboo type. The reed type can not be used in a French Ring Trial.

I also agree you have to hit yourself very hard to get sound from this. I thought it would hold up better than regular ones but because you have to hit so hard to make sound I don't think it will. I got mine off the esty leerburg page.

This clatter stick is flaired a bit at the end so it has to be struck too hard in my opinion to get a sound from it. I have been using my legs to strike but you really have to flog yourself a bit. The individual reeds also split so it can't touch the dog, you may also get a splinter from it on bare skin. I would get something different next time.
