Product Description
If you train scent detection dogs, whether for civilian or law enforcement purposes, your search leash should be lightweight, durable, and handle-free. The reason for omitting a handle is that during certain searches, we intentionally drop our leash to allow the dog to search independently. A drag leash is ideal for this purpose, as it eliminates the risk of a handle getting snagged on obstacles, which could interfere with the dog's search.
Leerburg’s BioThane Scent Work Drag Leashes are 3/8 inch wide and feature the highest quality stainless steel hardware available.
Unlike the chrome hardware found on competitor leashes, which rusts over time, our stainless steel hardware offers superior durability.
The BioThane we use has a tensile strength of 375 lbs, making it lighter and stronger than leather. In tests conducted by our Amish harness makers, we attached both BioThane and leather lines to their draft horses. In all three tests, the leather broke before the BioThane. Additionally, BioThane is unaffected by rain or moisture, unlike leather.

Admin: the BioThane leashes are strong and resist breakage but these leashes are not advertised as chew proof or indestructible.
