Product Description

The Veterinary/Emergency Soft Muzzle from Leerburg is a lightweight, compact muzzle designed for quick, short-term use in a variety of everyday situations. Whether you're heading to the vet, visiting the groomer, hitting the trails, or stopping by the dog park, this muzzle is a practical tool to have on hand. Its standard shape makes it a great fit for most medium to large dog breeds, though it is not compatible with brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds.

Constructed from heavy-duty nylon with a nylon liner, and reinforced with nylon webbing, this muzzle is built to hold up to regular use while remaining light enough to fold down into a compact size. It easily slips into a vehicle door pocket, pants pocket, backpack, or fanny pack, so you can bring it along wherever your adventures take you.

One of the key features of this muzzle is its suitability for injured or heat-stressed dogs. When a dog is in pain or experiencing a heat injury, panting is a natural and necessary response — restricting it can lead to further complications.

Traditional muzzles are typically too tight to allow for this, but this muzzle is designed to be left slightly open when needed, giving an injured dog the ability to pant freely. When a more secure fit is required, it can be cinched down completely, transitioning seamlessly from a medical application to a protective one. The adjustable cinching device is dependable and strong, so you can trust it in either scenario.

Putting the muzzle on is simple and straightforward. The head strap is fully adjustable and features a quick-release snap for fast, hassle-free application and removal. What sets this muzzle apart from most soft muzzles on the market is its velcro strap around the muzzle itself, which allows you to quickly loosen or tighten the fit as needed for a more customized, secure feel.

It's worth noting that soft muzzles are intended for short-term use only and should always be used under direct supervision. If your dog has a bite history, is reactive, or needs to wear a muzzle for an extended period of time, we recommend transitioning to a wire muzzle for their safety and comfort.

Measurements (approximate)

Standard shape fits most medium to larger dog breeds measuring roughly 3.5" Long in muzzle length, and 11" in muzzle circumference, without pant room. Does not fit brachycephalic dog breeds.

  • Top View: 3.5" Long, 6" Wide
  • Bottom View: 5" - 4" Long, 6.5" Wide
  • Velcro Strap: 12" female strap (circumference of outside of muzzle), 3.5" male strap
  • Adjustable Circumference: 8" - 11"
  • Adjustable Head Strap: 3/4" Wide with easy snap buckle, adjustable from 6" - 21.5" in length, easily cinch down to appropriate tightness

Care

When it comes to cleaning, maintenance couldn't be easier. Simply wash the muzzle with warm soapy water and allow it to air dry — no special care required.

WARNING

This muzzle should only be used with direct supervision of your dog. This muzzle is not designed to accommodate full panting room and should be used in short-term situations only like in a medical emergency, at the veterinary clinic, or while grooming.

When a dog is in pain or experiencing a heat injury, panting is a natural and necessary response — restricting it can lead to further complications.

If you need a long-term, bite-proof, exercise muzzle with proper pant room, we recommend our Polymer Coated Wire Basket Muzzle instead.
