Bernhard Flinks described our seminar the best he has had in the last 15 years.We are pretty sure this one will be the best in the last 16 years. We are in the process of relocating ourselves,we will still be in the New York area, probably close to NYC but still upstate. Wow...$600.00 for 4 days? I went to a 5 day seminar little over 3 years ago with Flinks and Winkler for 300.00. We even got stadium time and Alex Beyer and Doug Wendling to boot.
Sorry, just seminars are getting so they're only for a select few.

I do not know if you remember,I was there.
Maybe to help you remember, I was the guy Bernhard used at the opening of the seminar to show everyone there how you build drive with the ball and how to work the dog through the obedience routine.
If you recall at that seminar there was alot of dead space sometimes 2,3 hours at a time. Meals were not provided and included in the fee , so if you were hungry you had to drive for 45min just to get something to eat and then drive back. This also created a lot of wasted time. You also had to drive to the stadium, more time lost.You also had to drive to the tracking field.
Let me ask you something. How many times did you get to work your dog in a day? There were so many dogs and so many people Bernhard probably worked your dog for 5 minutes in one day.

I am not sure how many seminars you have participated in your life or more specifically, all over Europe but I do and have participated in a few over the course of my life and especially in Europe, so let me explain to you what a seminar means to me.
A seminar should start at around 7:30am with everybody having breakfast together and that is when the staff that is working the seminar start to introduce themselves to the patrons and start to explain to them the itinarery of the day. After everyone is clear we start to work till lunchtime.
At lunchtime everyone including staff dine together.
This time is really precious because that is when everybody can relax and reflect on the mornings activities and can share stories and ask questions and still you do not miss one minute of seminar. And one extra bonus you get with all of this a nice homemade hot meal, and we are not talking just some hotdog and a bun.
Then it is back to work and we can work till sundown and you know that it can go later because it is summertime.
And to put a nice end to the day a nice hot dinner awaits all of the tired but still very much excited group and we are all able to talk over the entire days events.
We all say Goodnite till Tomorrow and that is what a full day of training seminar is supposed to be.With not one minute of waste to the day.
One of my strongest beliefs in life is quality is always more important than quantity. So like you say, for sure there will only be a select few because space is limited so that everyone has their own quality time and goes home with something they'll be glad to remember for a long time.

I would attend in heart beat if you guys were just a bit closer..

Having attended a K9 Nations seminar, I think their seminar price is a lot more fair than you'd think.

First off, we worked from 7ish am until nightfall, and every handler/dog was worked several times ( I think I worked like eight times a day ) a day - waaaay more than any other seminar that I've ever attended, and I've attended *many* through out the years. Most of us were so tired that we crawled into bed like old farts at the end of a training day.

We were fed breakfast, lunch, snacks, and all the drinks that we could hold. And the meals were good. We were also invited for dinner most evenings, which were delightful.
And we all talked with Bernhard during the meals, so it was like additional training ( Ed did that during the Leerburg Flinks seminars, it was always a nice touch ). Francesco's wife puts out a nice table and it really helped us bond as a group.

As Francesco had mentioned, there's not a lot of down time at his seminars ( he apparently was an air traffic controller in a previous life, he always had the next team ready to go, lol ) which really made us feel like our time was valuable.

If I wasn't stuck in Culinary School right now, I would so be at that seminar.

Yes I remember who you are. I guess as unhappy as you seem to have been with all the "down time" and having to drive 12 minutes to the stadium and about the same to additional tracking fields and of course no meals, should Armin decide to hold another seminar such as this we shouldn't save you a spot?

Have you bought a new watch in the last 3 years? Because I think you need one. You forgot to add the 0 after 12.
You never heard me comment about that seminar that you mentioned or complain, and you know why?
For what we paid ,$300, you really can't complain. Everything is appropriated to the price. Plus you still never answered to me, and don't lie to me, because you know I was there. In one entire day of seminar(the seminar started around 10:00 and stopped for lunch around 1:00 and ending around 4:30 no later than 5)with so many people and so many dogs, how many MINUTES did you work your dog, maybe 5 if you were lucky enough to even work your dog.
If you remember me like you say, after I worked for like an hour at the opening of the seminar, used by Bernhard to show to you guys how to buid focus and drive in the obedience routine, Armin
got a little upset because Bernhard held me in the field for so long. There was no more time for everybody to work their dog.
Bernhard replied to him his reasons for doing so. His reasons were that it was a super bonus for the people at the seminar for him to expain the exercise and at the same time it be executed in the proper way .It was like if you sat on your couch in the middle of the field and watched a live video tape with Bernhard Flinks.
The second reason was because he knew it would be impossible to work all of the dogs for obedience. So like a professional like he is and with his experience with seminars, Bernhard wanted to make it worth everybody's time and learn everything he had to offer with the time he was given. And the only way to do that was if he and I gave a group demonstration.
I saw alot of participants at that seminar argue about who would be the next team to work with Bernhard. It wasn't pretty. The reason , too many people and too little time.
I saw different groups working at the same time, like at the stadium. I thought it was a Bernhard Flinks seminar, so I was in the group with Bernhard.
Which group were you in Keith? Maybe Armin, he had to create more than one group so everybody could work their dog for at least a few minutes.
I think that it was really stressful for one day "like you call a seminar".
Anyway I did meet alot of nice people at that seminar, but I do not remember you. And do you know why?
Probably there wasn't a reason to remember you.
And about your question if you guys should book me for another seminar, absolutly.
25 minutes of working with Bernhard over the course of 5 days, are worth every penny.
At my seminar with Bernhard, people will be available to work at least an hour and a half with him a day. And I am talking about one on one time with him.
So I ask you this and this is my final question. Do you think working at least an hour and a half with a world renowned trainer plus an entire day spent at a beautiful professional training facility with breakfast, lunch and dinner with unlimited beverages and the opportunity to meet really dedicated participants that can share knowledge with you ,different training techniques, sometimes contacts for breeding, etc, so do you think it's worth $150 for the day?
I guarantee to everybody that no one will complain.
So if you still want to be cocky with me, do so on the field.
That's the place where I let my dogs do the talking for me.
