I want to get a crate for my 2 year old female GSD for in the truck. I have a crate I use in the house that is X Large and I wanted a smaller one. I was wandering what size crates people use? I am looking at a plastic one that is 36" long by 25" wide.
Also, she eats raw diet and I was wandering how many times a day do you feed your dogs?
depends on how big/tall your dog is. I have a great crate 6000 which is about 48" long by 30" tall with a divider in the middle (my rott is still a pup). then again his parents were pretty huge...
with the raw, I've been going twice a day... 430am and about 5pm
Clarify by spelling every little thing out. Some people can be extreme when drawing their own conclusions.
For the truck, the answer is the smallest crate that she can get into, turn around, and lay down in. That is all she needs to do. Bring her to a pet store and test the sizes and you'll have your answer. As far as feeding, I raw feed twice a day as well - morning and evening.
As you see, my GSD can lie down and sit up if he ducks his head, but its "just" big enough. Thats about all a dog needs in a car. If you are going on a long trip, just pull over and let the dog stretch, but as long as the dog can lie down comfortably, its safer than a dog that stands up all the time.
Yukon But yeah, I like this one much better. This is actually similar to what I told American Aluminum to make me, I was never too happy with what they made, but Perry isn't around the corner and I didn't feel like driving up there more than I had to.
gorgious dogs, I need to put a bit more weight on my male shephard drak. I feed my dogs dry with everything they need and twice a day morn and night. I drak when I come home and put a bit of peanutbutter in her food and feed her first in the evening to make sure she eats because Holly tends to eat all so I feed them both only when I am home and take it away when I give them about 15min or so. This is only until drak gains about 5pnds or so and holly loses about 7pnds or so. They do runs alot in the backyard and play. Not sure how much to feed each dog. I fill up both bowls one time for the whole day if I leave it out from morning when I leave for work about 7:30 until I come about 5:30 6pm.
Not sure if this is good but for now that is all I can do, unless someone has any other suggestions.
My dad is home to check on the water durring the day and play with them a bit but sometimes holly gets to jumpy so he does not stay out too long, my dad get tired fast. We use a wired crate that only fits one dog and use it when we go camping only. They both sleep on pillows in the garage and can move around in the garage with access to the water during the night if they need it but no food and the garage is closed from 10pm to about 7 - 7:30 am.
How can I put a picture of my two dogs as you did, can someone right it down the step by step so that it is easy for me to understand and follow.
