Well our third housemate (he's moving out soon, he was the third wheel in the first place) officially hates this dog, so I've had to move her prematurely upstairs to keep her quiet so he can....game? I don't know...I don't get why video gaming needs complete silence but whatever and it's not like he sleeps here... O_O
Did an intro with Ryuk and Gamble last night....Ryuk first in the WEIRDEST dog-dog intro I've ever seen....It was like introducing Ryuk to his slightly-less-mean clone.....I've never seen two dogs being introduced that thoroughly didn't give a crap about each other and were more interested in offering behaviors for their handler...which happens to be me...so there was this awkwardness while they tried really hard to ignore each other "harder" so that they could bump each other out of the way....this continued for most of the night...they share the exact preference of sleeping areas and styles, kept actively noticing they were mimicing each other and being very confused about it....she was loose in my room most of the time...I don't foreseen any issues with these two....I think at some point someone attempted to clone a Ryuk but didn't build the outer mold quite the same....
Gamble's meet was a bit more normal....he put on his butthead "stud" face for a second before his brain attached. However even that was a good indicator of her temperment. Once again, she's a lot like Ryuk....doesn't "like" other dogs and is probably not going to be a social butterfly, but does so in a neutral well mannered sort of way. Since Gamble respects this it was fine. She gives fair warning and I'm sure had Gamble not listened it would have been a fair bark correction. However he immediately remembered all his manners and they had some nice passive interaction then I turned them out into the yard and they ignored each other.
I will NOT be introducing her to Willow at this time though I may do a meet through the door if Soup continues to be neutral to see if Willow just doesn't like rude dogs/puppy antics or if maybe there's a touch of female/female aggression there.
Soup's coming down with Green Slime as of early this morning but this time we know what to do...it's bacterial, it's spread through contact with slime, so she's on antibiotics which will knock it down in about two days and Gamble isn't allowed to interact with her because he's a nose licker....
I've got Willow in the kitchen as she has a weaker immune system. Ryuk didn't get it last time because he doesn't lick noses so he's being turned out with her, Gamble's being turned out with WIllow
We now have 100% healthy solid poop (seriously, Taste of the Wild is one of the easiest kibbles to switch on to) and while she still feels the need to hide behind the bushes when she poops she does so with a wagging tail and immediate comes out for her treat. Crate training is getting better...she's not longer beating up my nice "problem dog" crate but if left alone she will still howl a bit. Vet appointment yesterday went well, outwardly healthy, we couldn't GET any poop for a fecal but she was wormed just in case. We're waiting on the rabies vaccine as her records from the pound are a little sketchy and she MAY have already had it, eventually I'll need do something so I've got the paperwork but we're going to give her a bit. She did have the whole 5-way thing. She's lovely at the vet, okay to be handled. Settles as soon as I stop moving not matter how high the distraction which is a fun quirk...she fell asleep in the waiting room with dogs barking at her, then as soon as I moved she turned "on" again and behaved like a normal less-than-trained-dog.
I'm wondering maybe if she was a homeless person's dog, which would explain her environmental soundness, why she's probably never been alone, why she's probably the easiest dog in the world to travel with, and possibly why she's been rolled by a car with minimal vet care.
