At risk of hi-jacking this thread, I wanted to comment as I feel I could tell people an example of the last seminar in Ocala, Florida that I attended.
All I can say from my own personal experience is that if this seminar is within driving distance from you then by all means, go there and learn.
I attended the seminar not really knowing what to expect, and I was very impressed. We started at 7 something every morning and some nights it went until 11pm! Easily 12 hours a day working dogs and some theory. Bernhard is a MACHINE working dogs and he truly loves the sport. You can tell that he has an absolute passion for what he is doing. I learned more in this seminar and talking with him than everything else combined at this point in my schutzhund career. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that is was like 90 something degrees and (of course) humid. Even natives like me were looking for some shade and Bernhard kept on going working up a serious sweat getting burnt in the process. And I mean all day, every day.
-To those that still might be incredulous, come down and give it a try sometime in Central Florida, not for the faint-hearted.......
If it were not for running a demanding business that leaves little free time, I would be glad to fly up to this seminar and pay $600 to train with Bernhard. For world class training, advice and experience I do not think this is unreasonable, especially considering that the facility is world class and you dont have to leave to go and eat.
To me, this is a personal investment to become a better handler and to gain more knowledge about dogs. I got to personally talk to Bernhard throughout the seminar, went out to dinner with him (4 of us) and I liked him the moment I met him. He is an awesome guy to talk to and very humorous, I can't wait to go next year wherever he may be. I promised I would visit him when I go to Germany and he said he would hold me to it as we have many cigars to smoke. -For me, that is an awesome feeling leaving a seminar.
If you are on the fence about going, do yourself a favor and GO!! It is money well spent in the sport.
I went up to K9 Nation this past weekend (small brag, my pup did great!) and the new place is awesome. Tons of room for the Flinks seminar, excellent flat fields that are fenced in 100% it's going to be a really nice seminar.,
AL
All I can say is I had the pleasure of being able to visit K9 Nation and meet Francesco today WOW, just WOW. This guy, dogs, and his training grounds are amazing.
For lack of a better comparison watching him and his dogs work was like poetry in motion. I honestly had one of the largest life changing experiences today working with someone that is so gifted. I think I came away with more in one 6hr day with him then I have gotten out of any form of training.
To say it is too expensive is just a flat out lie. There is no price you could put on what you get in training with someone that is this good.
And before anyone thinks this is me kissing his a$$ look at some of my posts, im not the type of person that cares enough to make up some b.s. story.
All I can say is it is money well spent!
And to top it all off his wife is one of the greatest hosts out there. She brought us drinks and even went out and got stuff and made it up for lunch.(VERY TASTY food!)
All I can say is thank you and I cant wait to start doing more work with you in the future!
Anyone else on the board get the chance to go? It was a great time. I must say the amount Francesco and Bernard can stuff into one day is amazing! I think most learned more in the morning "theory" session then they could have in a yr with any other two trainers. And as always at the end of the day you are tired and full of knowledge and good food. (thanks Kathryn!)
I think the best part was how down to earth and willing to help Bernard and Francesco were. That and the fact these two guys are machines when it comes to working dogs, I think most would have been crying if they tried to keep that pace lol.
All in all it was a great time and I cant wait for another seminar at K9Nation. Hopefully even more board members will come to the next one so I can put some more faces to names.
Well I will have to be honest here and tell you that I would never attend one of these events. Not because of Bernhard but because of that scumbag Francesco Carotenuto.
I live in the small town that he was just evicted from.(yes he was evicted from the house he lived in and left it destroyed)
Frank had a horse barn with about 10 5 months old pups that lived in the horse stalls 24/7. He would get off his dead ass 1x a month to clean the stalls and there were 3-4 dogs in a stall.
These poor pups had nothing. They were terrified of everything. If frank wanted to move them out of the stall to clean the 2 ft of crap he carried them. They were two scarred to walk on a leash. What happened to all those pups Frank?
I have witnessed phone conversations between Frank and many of the members of this board. He is so nice and pleasent to them until he hangs up the phone and starts bad mouthing and insulting the ignorant. (Do you here that Rambo?)
I do not know the Raponi's personally but I know people who do know them and my hat is off to them.
The bleachers and the tent and the picnic tables that were all used at Franks show last year were compliments of the Raponi's.
I couldnt figure it out, why would they still help this chump out even after he has publically announced he has nothing to do with them.
Now I see on other boards that he is bashing them with lies.
Frank is out to make money off the dog world.
It wont be long before he is being sued by numeriouse people in Cobbleskill. Just as he has in Hannibal.
He has a bad habit of buying things and not paying for them.
I cannot stand by and read this crap about him anymore.
I feel the truth needs to be told.
Buyer Beware!
People arnt always what they seem!
