I am not offended about criticisms abut things I do or not. Nothing to do with this site or anyone on it, but what really PiXXXX me off is when people assume things or make assumptions, then without any form or reasonable qualification they launch into some full scale attack on or about my behaviour ( which was in fact completely wrong in the first place ) But again, any reasonable person would be verify what they are thinking prior but it does seem to be an increasing disease with many people. I suppose I call it cherry picking words or comments, than taking them out of context to use as some odd type of weapon to use against me. But being paranoid does not mean that’s it’s not true!
I will try to be as accurate as possible, but if there is something anyone is not sure about please ask, don’t assume, that’s all I would ask!
First we live in Bulgaria, obviously a none English speaking country, I speak very, very little of the language, as it’s an Ass, rather like Russian. Also, Life in these sort of places in the most part would make your hair curl with the things that go on. Specially with animals, Abuse is a kind word, some of them go way beyond abuse, believe me! I find this extremely difficult to cope with but that’s how it is. It’s quite normal here to have a dog as a kind of biological door bell, that’s all many are. ( NOT ME I WOULD LIKE TO SAY) they take a dog, when it is about 7 to 8 weeks old, chain it to a post in their garden, the chain would typically be between 1 and 3 mtrs long, with a knock together kennel of some sort, and that’s it’s life! I mean that’s it’s rest of it’s entire life, It either never, or at best extremely rarely ever comes off this chain or rope. Their entire diet is predominantly made of left over bread, that’s it, and their entire universe consist of a radius of about 4 to 8 Sqr meters for it’s whole life, When they become an annoyance or ill or just old, shall we say they disappear. Or are take out and just dumped up a mountain to die and be eaten by wild animals. NOT nice is it, but I can’t do anything to change them, it’s a brutal life out here in many ways.
This how I managed to get my old Caucasian mountain dog. The owner moved house and just left him to starve. So I took him in. and WOW! He was a fantastic dog we looked after him and gave him a proper home for 3 years, and it took almost 18 months for him realize he was in heaven poor old boy! But we managed to win him over in the end, and there was no fear of us in the end. See my Utube link of him, asking for his food, funny !! We loved him to bit’s.
Anyway, our new boy!
I can’t get so called expert help as there is none out here, for this sort of thing, or very little, their training is often a very large club ( submit or die) that’s abut it. Well I don’t subscribe to such barbaric antics NEVER! I would die first!
I have had many pups in my life, but have forgotten many thing and problems we all encounter bringing them up, if you don’t use it you loose it as they say. But these dogs, are not the normal dog, very strong will, fight to the death, monsters, not to be messed with, I think they eat about 3 GSD’s for a snack! Just joking,,,,, But you get the idea. We live at the foot hills of a large range of mountains, with no other house around us, there are brown bears wolfs, and jackals, all around our area, but we have a monster stone wall about 8ft high, so nothing can get in or out, except a tank!! Hah.
We have over a 1000 sqr meter plot of land where the dogs can run around in, and the job for the dogs, is to be a family pet, who we can enjoy, and a warning and deterrent for anything or anybody who fancies trying to get over the wall. As there are about 7 other houses with 3 or 4 hundred meters of us or our walls, but there is only about 5 families who live in this village, if you can call it that. So that’s their jobs, as well enjoying life we hope. We take them out, where there are countless miles of forests, mountains and grassland for the, to run and play in, although I don’t like to let them off the lead, in the event of coming across a bear, nasty snake or other creature out here, but I do take a 9mm semi auto pistol with me. So now we have some sort of picture of where we live. Not quite grizzly Adams, but not a million mile form it. We love the nature and the idea of being away from this crazy world as much as we can!
Anyway back to little dog, or the pup. Our entrance area to the house has 2 small ish halls, one is about 3.9 meter long and about 2 meters wide, and the other which has also access to is about 2.5 meter squire both these areas he sees as his kennel or bed are. The door which leads into our kitchen is left open all the time, with a baby gate to stop him running wild around the house, and chewing everything in sight.
The problem we seem to have is he still has these nasty little milk type teeth, needles, and it seems when ever we let him out he is off, chew, chew, bit, and we give him chew thing to distract him, which sort of works, for a short while, until he fixes on something else, then it’s let me go, and have a go at that, as he is on the lead all this time, so he can’t do that, he turns on the lead to chew that, if you attempt to stop him, he starts on you. And goes on and on and on, until after bout 10 to 15 mins your either bloodied up with wounds to the hands or you run out of steam and you put him away. Back into his pen. But due to this happening almost every time he comes out, you end up almost being brain washed not to want to let him out. This I recognise as not good. Lots of people say, it’s just a crazy stage they go through, and he will soon grow out of it. As he is only 3.5 months old. We would like him to be relaxed and lay on the floor, so we can all enjoy each other company, but at the moment this just not happening.
I can write lots more, but this I hope is a start at least. Please ask anything your not sure off, and I will try and answer as best I can !
