If you're still around Jason (feel free to PM me if you don't want to repost on this thread), how were you planning on training this dog in Personal Protection, without good trainers in the area?

I can't speak to dealing with a dog like this one...so I won't. I have seen my dog "hung", not often and only a few times in her most severe fits of DA. I can also say the handler determined very quickly that this form of training was not effective for her, and moved on to the method that did correct the problem. This was a process and it occured over several years....

The only thing I'd like to say is as someone who came to LB because I had a problem that I did not know how to correct, the first thing you have to do is open yourself to the truth (you have to own up to what is happening with you and your dog HONESTLY). Then you have to listen and take the responsibility for correcting the situation, and I have not seen one time on this forum where an inexperienced handler is not directly responsible for complicating their own problem. Just own it and then you can move forward --- we come to LB because of the expertise here, so listen and learn. When I hear someone become defensive after asking for help, well then I think perhaps help is really not what they are seeking.

As someone who simply "did it all wrong" first, I have to say I really didn't care, it is hard to hear you messed up, but I wanted the problem fixed worse. OP please reevaluate your situation -- then let these folks help you, I really believe my dog is alive today because of the help and guidance I got here. This is an opportunity for a growth experience, take it!

I think this comment shows where the O.P.'s head is at. This is ignorant and it shows by his inability to take critcism.

I also would like to ask why does someone need a PPD in his part of town? I'm confused.

Lastly, vendor clearly stated this would not be a good family pet...

Well i vowed to stay out of this post i created. But when people like you come along it makes it rather difficult.

First THE DOG IS Fine when he is on the leash and we are walking him. Like taking him out to potty and such. HOWEVER, the moment you approach him to hook/unhook the the leash the dog gets in a different state of mind. You don't own this dog, i do. Have you owned a dog like this? Probably not. Come to my house buddy boy and let's see if you can do a better job. I think not. So quit your rambling if your not going to assist in this problem.

It's funny that most of your bashers (and you know who you are) state that i become defensive when you criticize me. What the hell do you expect? I mean, i have admitted to my problem. Im trying to FIX our problem we have here. I goofed, i admit. The methods i used maybe you see were wrong, but in the situation that happened, i had no option. I have not went back to this method. SO RELAX!!!! Take a Chill pill or something. For God's sake.

Most of you don't understand that you are really adding to my confusion. It isn't you that has got to deal with this dog. It isn't you that has to care for this dog. IT IS ME. And im 100% dedicated to this dog and to find a solution to correct his behavior. NO, i don't have experience like Ed, never claimed too. However, my lack thereof if you want to call it that will not PREVENT me from trying and trying and trying. Neither will you bashers. Bash all you want, you are just contributing to the problem.

This dog had issues before i even got him. How can you bitch to a person that took this dog in when no one else would and is giving a strong effort to rehab this dog into a positive animal.

You guys bitch and moan about "newbs" coming on here asking for advice which you guys find "Stupid" -- Well if thats the case, lock the board up to only where you "Professionals" that sit behind your little computer and bash other people trying to get help and become knowledgable in this area.

People make mistakes, and the last time i checked, opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. So deal with it.

If you want to criticize me then fine. Do so, but don't bash me by going through my posts siffing out conflicts. If you had people giving different advice every time a new post was made, you would have conflicts. Some of you really need to re-read my posts and understand my situation. The dog regardless of it's current status, it well taken care of. It gets the best of food and always will. It will get a top quality life. THAT IS A FACT.
