Hi! I thought I whould do a little introduction as well
I am 22 year old girl from Estonia and live in the rather small town named Pärnu. I work as a animalcather and carer in the small animal shelter but I am on maternity leave at the moment. I have had and trained different dogs over the years but just seemed to have terrible luck with them with accidents, health problems and bad people...
I am the sole owner of a male french bulldog Porthos that actually lives with my daughters grandparents and co-owner of a lovely dobermann Veeda aka. Imidz Pheba Great. I got her as a year old excuse for an example of a working breed dog- submissive, a bit shy and no self confidence. She had been bought by some people that wanted a showdog but as her head looked like a natural disaster as a youngster, she was sent back to the breeder and as she didn´t really have the time to give her much attention, she needed a new home badly. I had lost my 6 month dobermann and was actually looking for a beaucheron (the dobe-owning community I was in contact through the first breeder proved to be people that I wanted to have nothing to do with) when my friend asked if I didn´t know anyone that could offer Pheba a home. I took a look at her and fell... in love (despite the head that looked like it was installed wrong or something). I went to visit the breeder and as I was greeted by three dobes and a spaniel on the door, I knew exactly that THIS ONE is MY DOG. She slept at my feet the whole time we discussed the contract. I took her back to Estonia with me and named her Veeda.
More than two years have passed and we have had our share of problems but have been able to solve the most of them. Her head is not perfect but she has earned the highest grade from every show I have taken her to (mostly specialties with speciatly judges). Nobody ever hoped this dog will ever bite a sleeve, maybe a tug if I work hard enough. Thanks to the work of Ludek Silhavy she passed German ZTP last year and we are training for IPO. Her sire is known to pass lovable temperament and Veeda is a living proof. She loves kids and is a sweetheart in everyday life never getting in trouble and always trying her best to make me happy. I love her soooo much. And the dobermann-people that I now deal with, are really helpful smart and friendly people.
We also have two other dogs living with us- my sisters collie mix Khris and my husbands smooth dachshund Liisu. Khris I found on the street when she was just a puppy of about 3 months. Some kids had found her, put some leash-sort of thing on her and were dragging the dead-tired pup along. She was sort of shy but fed so I thought she must have an owner looking. I was wrong. I advertised her but nobody contacted me. So I started looking for a new owner but the only person interested was a drunk old man who said he could "take her out of my hands if I want to get rid of her." So she stayed... I took her out everywhere with me so she got ALOT of socialization. She was my sisters dog but as I had just lost my first bulldog and were waiting for my first dobe pup to grow, I trained her as my sister really didn´t have the interest to. After I lost my dobe Brandy, in the desparate desire of distracting my mind, I tried every sport it was possible with her- she did great in obedience, tracking, SAR, agility, trick training... We also took part in alot of mutt-shows and she has several BIS on her account (her 13 rosettes are more than all my purebred dogs have combined). Unfortunately non-registerd dogs are not allowed to compete here so all we have is a first place (max points) medal from a unofficial competition. She is very clicker trained and by this I mean we actually managed to teach her how to think and solve difficult problems on her own. In training this might be great but if a dog starts to open drawers and climbing on the top of a cupboard that there is NO WAY a dog of her size could EVER get, it poses some problems. So she just moved in Veedas crate that Veeda really hadn´t used for some time... She is now 5 years old.
The other dog is a 7 month old dachshund that my husband needed so badly. I had told people that I don´t have a problem adopting an adult problem dobermann but I a petrified of getting a dachshund so I never will. And then suddenly my hubby, that I had only heard saying, that dobermann is the only real dog in the world, started to mumble something about dachshunds. I thought that he had to be joking. Unfortunately he wasn´t... I found a nice litter and we went to look at the pups- he wanted to get a black male but there were only a small black female and two beautiful brown males left. We wanted a dog to show so I thought the good male is a go. For some reason he picked the small female- the only real color of a dog was supposed to be black. Yeah, right... (I am a devoted brown fan). I have found that she is quite a nice dog really but very vocal and gets in trouble every chance you let her. She is also not very obedient and since she is not my dog I have nothing to do about it. I am just happy it is a dachshund, not a dobermann
But the funny little disproportioned ball of joy just has a way to steal your heart...

This is me and Veeda in Ludek Silhavy training camp 2006. I guess my face is not all that important with it hanging on the signature and all...
So I guess HELLO EVERYBODY! It has already been a real pleasure being a member and I am pretty sure it will only get better
