Powder vs. Tablets
When deciding whether the tablets or the powdered formula would be best for your dog, you should take into account that type of food he/she eats. Owners that feed their dogs a raw, real, or moist food diet tend to like the powdered formulas because they can simply be mixed in during mealtime.
For dogs that are finicky eaters, we suggest the tablets. The tablets have the same ingredients and composition as the powdered formula, with the exception of a few binding ingredients that must be added for the tablets to compress.
For cats, it is typically easiest to give the tablets. However, it is possible to make a tea out of the powdered formula by steeping 1/4 tsp. powder in 1/4 cup of hot water. Then, mix 2 tbsp. of the tea in the cat's moist food.
Feeding Tips
Though Herbsmith formulas are very palatable, occasionally dogs are hesitant to eat the herbs because of the unfamiliar taste and smell. If a dog is hesitant, simply try adding a pinch of the powder during mealtimes to gradually acquaint them with the formula. Slowly increase the amount given each day until they eat a full dose without hesitation.
Alternatively, you can mix the powdered herbs with applesauce, yogurt, cottage cheese or any other dense or moist food.
Also, fillable capsules can be purchased at most pharmacies. The powder can be loaded into the capsules and administered like a tablet. Most pets easily eat capsules or tablets covered in peanut butter, cheese spread, liverwurst, etc.

I just had to let you know how great my experience with Comfort Aches and Calm Shen has been. My dog suffered an injury to his paw recently and Comfort Aches worked well for him. Also, the Calm Shen has helped a lot with his generalized anxiety. Combining Calm Shen with an exercise program, marker training, and frequent field trips (I bring a ball or tug along to play) has worked wonders. I just wanted to share how great these products are.

I know now I really love these supplements. Draco is taken the supplements regularly but whats really interesting is I almost didnt relate how much better he is but this weekend we got so busy that I forgot to give him his supplements for a few days. I noticed the difference yesterday morning cause the limp was back and made sure to get him back on the supplements.
He no longer limps, the swelling has not gone completely away but has visibly reduced, back of his elbow is no longer solid from being filled with so much fluid. Were able to walk again and now he wants to go farther. I have him taking it slow cause I dont need to reinjure him. But its nice to be able to walk my dog again.
I also just recommended this supplement for a friend.

I wanted to let you know that the HerbSmith Allergy stuff is working well. I went through one small bottle and the redness is almost completely gone and she only chews once in a while on the base of her tail. Last year she was chewing constantly and her belly was so red and hot. I got her a big bottle yesterday.
