This 2-day workshop is open to handlers and decoys of all levels, from new handlers to experienced competitors and trainers.

Good bite work is a team effort that doesn’t just require a great dog but also a handler that can read their dog clearly and structure the training according to the dog's genetics, personality, and training level. This seminar is designed to build that skill, giving you practical tools to train with more clarity, less conflict, and better long-term results. Joaquim will break down exercises into smaller pieces to build precision and a clear understanding for the dog. He will also be demonstrating exercises you can do at home that don’t require a decoy.

About Joaquim

Joaquim Dovat’s journey as a world class Decoy began in 1999, at a dog club near his hometown in Switzerland. Just a few years later in 2005, he was recruited by the Swiss Army, where he started his 14-year career training and selecting some of the country’s finest Military Defense Dogs. Always eager to expand his skillset, he soon became an expert in the training of Narcotic and Detection Dogs for annual deployments and defense dog missions. Today, almost 25 years later, Joaquim has been selected to decoy for more than 80 Mondioring, French Ring, and IPO competitions around the world, including 6 World Championships. He has been invited to share his passion and knowledge with hundrends of competitive sport dog teams during seminars and workshops all over the US, Europe, China, and Russia.
