If you have a large breed dog that is ball-crazy, do not buy this ball. Ball-crazy dogs may accidentally swallow a solid ball and get it stuck in the back of their throat, resulting in suffocation and death. This happens too often with balls the size of tennis balls. If you have a large breed dog that loves balls, we suggest getting the large Treat-Dispensing Chew Ball instead. Our Amish harness makers have also made a Leather Ball Strap that makes it easier to grab the ball in case your dog gets too carried away with it. Please have discretion when purchasing a ball and ensure it is the appropriate size for your dog.

When using balls as toys, the handler must be aware of the size of their dog and the prey drive of their dog. Possessive dogs can swallow small balls which can be fatal. Always purchase balls that are the appropriate size for your dog.
