Leerburg's Detection Hide Containers are a set of 3 nesting-style containers that can be added to your scent detection training routine. These containers are very versatile and come in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large. Each container has a vented screw-on lid, 1-2 removable earth magnets, 2" tall screw-in ground spike, and a tie-out channel for submerged finds.

This Detection Hide set is a great addition to any tracking, sport, or working detection training. Comes in a variety of bright or harder-to-see colors. The size of these containers allow you to use more or less of your source odor and hide it in a variety of places from magnetic surfaces, in the grass, or even underwater. We designed these containers to be used on dry land or in the water. We recommend if you intend to use these containers in a water-based environment to remove the magnets to prevent them from rusting and corroding.

How to Use

Load your source odor into the container and screw the vented lid back into place. From there, place your hide however your training calls for:

• Indoor hides: Place the container as-is in drawers, cabinets, or other indoor hiding spots — no spike or magnet needed.
• On dry land: Screw the ground spike into the base of the container to anchor it securely in soil or grass.
• On magnetic surfaces: Use the earth magnets to mount the container to metal surfaces like vehicles, fences, or equipment.
• Underwater: Use the tie-out channel to tether and submerge the container for water-based finds. Remove the magnets first to prevent rusting and corrosion.

Use container size to scale training difficulty — smaller containers hold less source odor for a more advanced find, while larger containers hold more for an easier introduction.

Kit Care

Cleaning scent kits and odor boxes should NOT be done in the dishwasher. We recommend hand washing using warm water and soap, then let the containers air dry.

We recommend storing your source odor separately once a training session is complete, and proofing off container odor as part of your training routine.
