We are often asked by customers if they should buy an agitation harness or a wide leather collar for bite work training. The answer to this question lies with their dog. The purpose for either one of these training aids is to insure the safety of their dog during protection training. Some dogs have so much drive that they choke themselves during bite training, even if they are worked on the "dead ring" of a normal prong collar. If this is happening to your dog, you need to make a change. For many dogs, a wider collar (1 1/4 inch) is enough. If a handler feels he needs more than this he can go to a 2" wide leather agitation collar or even a Leather Agitation Harness.

The CaliberDog K9 Tactical MOLLE Vest was designed with many features to accommodate the working military and police dog. This vest is made to conform and contour to the shape of the dog. The adjustable chest/neck strap sits above the dog’s breast bone eliminating any gap at the neck area of the vest. The back girth strap is sitting far enough forward and angled correctly on the dog eliminating the problem of causing pain to a male dog. The two metal welded leash rings are set up on the vest back so when the dog is in motion there won’t be a problem of the rings going under the vest and jabbing into the dogs back or neck.

The handles on this vest are set up. This makes them easily accessible and they Velcro flat when not in use. It also eliminates the problem of the handles hanging off the vest and grabbing the dog’s hair when it is time to pick up the dog.

The girth strap buckles are placed on the vest with material tabs under the buckles, eliminating the problem of the buckles riding on the dog's ribs and rubbing and pulling the fur. The vest is constructed of two layers of materials plus MOLLE straps to accommodate the MOLLE accessories available for this vest. The underside of our K9 Tactical MOLLE Vest has a thick layer of spacer mesh. Spacer mesh is a unique material. It makes the vest comfortable for the dog because it not only cushions the vest on the dog but also keeps the air flow moving under the vest. There are two rows of MOLLE straps and Velcro on each side of the vest.

The MOLLE straps will accommodate all the MOLLE vest accessories available.
