| Pets: | I am currently owned by puppy Petunia, a gorgeous AmStaff Terrier; Belle, a creative and patient Boxer; and Eddie-dawg, an ancient English Springer Spaniel. We are embarking on the adventure of a lifetime: training the owner to read the dogs and accomplish great things, and have fun while doing it! Ed is currently in physical therapy (including sessions on the water treadmill!) to improve his quality of life and general mobility. (He's an old man! Over 15 years old!) Belle is about 6 years old, a puppy mill rescue brought to our family 3 years ago, and my first experience in obedience training. She's a sweet heart, very food-motivated, and a wonderful addition to our family. She helps show our new foster dogs the ropes about being a family dog, though she does require slow and very controlled introductions. Petunia (or Tooney Patootie Tuna Smarty Pants) is our newest addition, a puppy rescue, American Staffordshire Terrier. She's compact, has an amazing focus and more than enough tenacity and drive, and awesome food and toy drive. I'm hoping to expand my own skills as a trainer with her, and see how far I can take her! Right now, we're aiming at polishing her obedience skills, and starting in agility and/or possibly beginning schutzhund by the end of summer. Our other goals for this season include earning the Canine Good Citizen certificate, and beginning work as a therapy dog. I'm hoping to make her into a breed ambassador for our community. | About Me: | I'm a mom, a certified veterinary technician, a graphic designer, a hard-core gamer, a Girl Scout, a self-proclaimed nerd at heart, a gardener, an artist, a Pagan, and a Goddess. I am in the process of redefining myself. I am happily married to the man who waited for me to come back to him. I have two beautiful, intelligent, creative daughters, and they are the center of my universe. I love to do so many different things, I can't possibly list them all in the space provided here. I am learning to let go of fear and embrace life as it comes to me. I seek the Goddess in every aspect of my life. And even though I'm going to school to be a veterinary technician and I love it, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. |
