| Pets: | Coal is a 9 (going on 10) year old Border Collie X Labrador Retriever. He is my old man, and has been through thick and thin with me. Patrol Unit is a 2-3 year old "Rez Dog" (AKA: Mutt). She came to us as a foster dog and my boyfriend decided we needed a younger dog in the house to keep intruders away (as we have had a problem with kids throwing things at our house, stealing, and even broke a window in the Humane Society van when it was parked in our driveway :S). Patrol Unit may be our little "PU" but she has wiggled her way into our home and hearts as well. Jarokko Rootwo is about 2 years old, he is Tuxedo Cat. he was raised with my dogs, as a dog. He went everywhere with me until he matured into a "cat" and no longer liked going in the car. He plays fetch, and can often be found wrestling with PU. Polly is my boyfriends cat. She is a long haired tabby, and approximately 11 years old. She can be a cranky bag sometimes... I'm not a big fan, but I tolerate her existence, must as I'm sure she tolerates mine. |
About Me: | I live in a very small town in the middle of BC with my boyfriend of 10 years, old dog Coal, new dog Unit, and two cats. My passion has always been dogs. I attended Canada West Canine Centre in 2007 and received two certificates in dog training and kennel management. In 2012 I attended an online course and received a certificate in Behavior Evaluations. I Volunteer with the local Humane Society and am on the board of directors, so I spend a LOT of my free time at the shelter, doing publicity for the HS, at fundraising events and meetings for the HS. I spend most of my time with the dogs that come into the shelter, working on socialization and training. I also spend at least one day a week caring for the animals (all animals at the shelter are cared for by volunteers, each have an assigned day), so I spend some time with the kitties too ;) |
