I've got to brag on my 8 week old Doberman. Yesterday it had it's first sit lesson. I showed twice what sit was and rewarded her. On the third time she sat on command. This was yesterday morning....periodically throughout the day I would gie her the sit command, she did it every time. This morning, first thing, I told her to sit and she sat.
Additionally, the first few times she would just touch her butt. Now she is holding until I reward or praise her (not all of the rewards are food by any means), and I have not even worked on that with her.
I just thought it was neat how quick she caught on.

This is great! Isn't it amazing how the dog will do it once the handler communicates what is wanted?! Every time it happens I feel impressed with the bond between two different species we have.
I love teaching young puppies the most. I love it because most of the time they don't have much of their own agenda in place yet. It's so much fun!!! I can't wait to get my new puppy in March.
