My male dog is 27 month old. His weight is normal: 88 pounds. I would like to give him a supplement to improve his endurance. I have tried Missing link, but I am not sure is helping. I would like to know about these other two products: K9 SuperFuel or Peak Performance 2 Have somebody tried any of them? Thanks for any advice.
I'm not sure about the best supplement, but I think that the best way of improving endurance is to have a good conditioning /exercise plan and stick with it until your dog is in better shape.
I recommend Feed-Sentials Supplement for K-9s and also Sh-Emp Oil. Supplements will provide many benefits to your dog and are definatly worth providing however you must also prioritize and assess a your dogs conditioning program. Excersise and training are more of a determining factor in your dogs endurance than the supplements alone . You also need to combine quality supplements with a high quality diet (whether you feed raw or kibble) and not in lieu of poor quality dog food.
So to answer your question I have known people who have used both Peak Performance and K9 Superfuel. Both have a good reputation but I would encourage you to look at the Feed-Sentials. I have seen people who used the other supplements and have switched to the Feed-Sentials line. Another really good supplement is called Nupro (made by Nutri-pet). These are also a little less expensive than the other two you mentioned.
Hope this helps.
I have used missing link now on several dogs but not for enduranse. The things I notice are softer hair, better skin, and just a happier dig. I use the plus with glucosamine as my last boxer had severe back leg problems that seemed to be helped while on ML. I now use it on all my dogs a 6yr old female Doberman a 5 yr old male Doberman and a 10 month old GSD
Thanks you all for the replies. I do train Shaq every day, if is not raining. We go to a Schutzhund club twice a week. Weekends, I train twice, short sessions. He is a showline and I’m trying to build his endurance a little bit, and I know he will never have the endurance of a working GSD. As for food, I feed him Canidae and recently I switch to Solid Gold every two 40 pounds bags. I additionally give him Glyco-flex, Vitamin C, and Salmon Oil. Plus the missing Link. I will check on the other product recommended. Thanks again.
Canidae & Solid Gold are both awesome foods! We feed Canidae too Innova is another good brand. With the Feed Sentials for K-9 & Sh-Emp Oil you would be able to eliminate the Glyco-flex, Vitamin C, and Salmon Oil... Its a complete & balanced whole food supplement with an impressive list of human quality ingredients. Nupro is also a great supplement, but its more along the same lines as the ML that you are using now. Good luck in your search
You also need to combine quality supplements with a high quality diet (whether you feed raw or kibble) and not in lieu of poor quality dog food.
Perfectly stated!
It makes sense to me that the dog should be on the diet and supplements before beginning conditioning.
Endurance comes from regular conditioning. A "B" vitamin complex helps repair the body after conditioning and build muscle tone (and muscle mass if I understand correctly).
I saw dramatic results in the musculature of my dog within a short time of adding this supplement to her diet
Ask your veterinarian about the appropriate dose for your dog.
Hi,
I'm interested in the Feed Sentials for K9, I've done a google search but can't find any where to buy this in the UK or Europe for that matter.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers!
