Navy Seals’ are always taught:

1) Keep your priorities in order and,

2) Know when to act without hesitation.

A Navy SEAL was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU. One day he shocked the class when he came in, looked to the ceiling, and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes." The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting."

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the SEAL got out of
His chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The SEAL went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the SEAL and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The SEAL calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an asshole. So He sent me."

Love it!! Having grown up in a Navy town and knowing Navy Seals, I'm surprised the guy would wait that long. Very patient of him. ROFL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Oh yes, very admirable. Let’s hear it for resorting to physical violence when we don’t like what we hear. That’s using the old noodle. Why confront an unwanted argument with logic and reason (which would require the use of one’s brain) when pounding the arguer into submission is so much easier? The military is the ultimate protector of our rights, which includes freedom of speech. I think this story is more of an insult to the training, intelligence and honor of the SEALs as a whole.

Just wishful thinking there Kitty, there is about twentyfive different variations floating around the net. And frankly that is down right mild compared to some of the left wing rants you see and hear in the media. Snopes.com has bunches of examples to pick from.

This is also mild to the right wing rants of talk radio.The quickest way to ruin this board is the introduction of Politics and Religion.

Thank you Jenni, I'm quite relaxed and yes, I was under no illusion that it was anything more than someone's wishful thinking. Every once in a while I get tired of left-wing and right-wing absurdities and the thoughtless applause that follows it. And so I vent a little...
