thought i saw him swallow sock last night but wasnt sure then thought why the heck would he want to eat the damn thing. when i workout i let him roam around and he sometimes gets into the laundry
well this morning he had some watery stools then this 3" thing hanging out of his hole. thinking what the heck could that be then he managed to squeeze the rest of it out and noticed it was a very large sock. this thing was twirled up into a 12" rope.
am i lucky he didnt get blocked or can they normally pass items like this without a problem?
I thought that type of thing only happened when your having over your inlaws for an outdoor dining experience.
DOBE, you are VERY lucky. Mine at 5 months ate a nylon knee high. He was VERY sick. After a trip to the emergency clinic, x-rays, antibiotics, IV drip for rehydration the vets weren't yet ready to believe me when I said YES he did eat it. Fortunately, just as I was contemplating exploratory surgery it came out........with a little help from me.
BTW, the day before I brought my dog into the clinic they lost a male dobe on the operating table. He had eaten a pair of nylons.
oh man, i need to be much more careful.
so far he has eaten from what i can remember in 6 months:
small tube of toothpaste
pieces of sponge mop
toy stuffing 2x
pieces of blankets
sock
Many years ago I worked in a very busy Vet hospital- we had a Dal in because of vommttiing and diahhrea and was believd to have eaten something- as part fo the kennel staff I walked the dogs multiple times a day and one time that Dal passed something NOT normal so going back inside the vets were asked if they were expecting something form the dogs poo- they all went running outside with plastic baggies in hand and got the poop and then washed it out to reveal very small thong underwear. Well they thoroughly washed it out and went into the waiting room to talk to the owners, mind you it was evening appointments so it was very crowded, held up the undies and asked if they were missing anything. probably one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. Of course it would not have been so funny had the dog need surgery or worse because of it-
Hey DOBE......maybe you should start closing doors or give him a kong with p-butter and cookies. That'll keep him busy while you can't watch him.
