Before proceeding with the content of this post I wanted to make sure the topic is appropriate for this forum. My lady will come into heat in Feb and I am looking to AI her with the help of a vet. (I also have ED’s AI DVD) Is this an appropriate forum to ask for opinions regarding stud matches that will help improve the breed?
My lady is KKL1 and I am looking for a suitable KKL1 stud. I have several prospects in mind and I am looking for advice on which stud will most improve upon her and the breed. Before I proceed in posting the mate matches, I want to be sure this is an appropriate topic for this forum.
FYI: for those following Marsha’s recent illness, she is feeling about the same. Still green urine and her temp is still a little elevated at 102.2. (Negative for urinary infection) My vet has referred me to another vet who will handle the AI. He will be screening her for everything before we proceed so there are no surprises down the road.
Ed's edited in comment: It is fine with me if people wish to comment here. A word of caution in the comments - keep them polite. Just because one does not agree with someones suggestion does not mean others should trash a dog. Nothing wrong with saying "I dont agree and will PM you wil the reasons"

First off I'm not a breeder and a newb but as many urinary health issues and a suspected undetermined skin allergie. I would not consider her for breeding at this time just for her healths sake.
She arrived from Germany on a plane in heat in August with a urinary infection, I have discussed this with her vet and he seems to feel she is more the suitable for breeding. Are you saying *ONE* urinary infection should automatically disqualify her for breeding? If so please support your opinion with relevant medical facts that may be unknown to me as my dog’s heath is my primary concern and my vet at this point does not share your opinion
The vet that will do the AI is going to do a preliminary exam and testing including VD testing on her and other test to make sure there are no unexpected surprises as the time approaches. He will review her entire history and if he feels she not suitable to breed then she won’t be breed.
My dog’s health is my first concern but Feb is fast approaching so I want to prepare if this is going to happen. If it doesn't happen... well then it doesn't happen, but my family are really excited about getting a pup from her so if God and her health are willing she will be breed. Plus, I want to pass one her pedigree to at least one litter.
I appreciate any health feedback you can share.

Dennis, I thought it noteworthy to mention the shampoo that caused Marsha's horrible reaction has been pulled form the market. I can't find any info as to why but the groomer said she received notice that it was being pulled and the shampoo she used that day was the rest of what she had on stock. It sounds like there may have been a problem with this shampoo. It is called Delrex if that helps. I have gone to the manufactures site and tired to order it to get a list of ingredients and even though it is in the product list you can’t get the ingredient list even order it. I guess what I am saying is I think something was wrong with this shampoo and that is why they pulled if from the market.
I would like to produce a strong Showline with working ability and drives but I am not necessarily looking for the intense drives that a lot of the working lines have. Temperament is more important to me as these pups will be going to family members who have children.
As stated in my initial post, she will (at my request) be screened for EVERYTHING before I proceed, but in all honestly, I expect that she will pass and until I find out she doesn't I want to prepare a mate for her. That can later be canceled.
Believe me the green urine has both the vet and I stumped, but he did a full blood, urine, and stool analysis and could not come to a conclusive diagnosis. He did mention she might be clearing the toxins from the shampoo reaction. She is showing no other symptoms. Green urine is not listed under the VD symptoms.

Thanks for the tip tracey. I am looking into it right now. I didn't know there was a dog sperm bank. That is prety cool.
Here are the studs I have found that are available for AI. I have mated them with Marsha at pedigreedatabase.com.
Opinions are always welcome but please exercise Ed’s comments in the first post. I just left a mediation with my ex… which was a beating times 100. be kind :-) I am a newbie at this so excuse my ignorance in advance.
