Thank you for your kind words, he has been a wonderful pup so far. He has been so easy to train to this point I have been amazed. I have done everything Ed has said on his video's and also his emails and Buddy is already doing down stays for up to 2 minutes. He sits, comes, and downs great. I have one problem I have not beat as of yet and that is he wants to bite at my face. I am told this is not uncommon for the bread.
He sounds great!! My 4 month Dane pup is getting really good at sit, down and stay but haven't timed it yet.
I don't know if this is any consolation but my pup bites your head if you're on the floor (and always your head). I've put it down to 'puppy antics' and he gets a firm 'no' which does the trick.
Not so much the Sib. Husky but the Alask. Malamute is getting very popular over here. Is there a big difference?
and sorry for my ignorance.
Lisa, I do not have to pardon your ignorance because I do not know the difference in the two dogs either. Yes a stern "NO" does work with the biting at my head but I have to admit with his size he is getting very intemadating when he trys to bite that way. Buddy can stand on his back feet and put his front feet on my sholders and look over my head at 5 1/2 months old.
To Ed and everyone else i am sorry I did not see where it said not to put more than two photo's of my dog in this area. If I had seen it I would have done just that.
I know exactly where you're coming from with the 'size' issue. He doesn't run at you like a steam train with no brakes aswell does he?
There could be some kind of freak genetic breeding going on that we're not aware of... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Lisa, no he doesn't do that thank God if he did I would just get flattened I guess. Funny thing we weighed today 68lbs 5 1/2 months old, I have a 20 year old daughter that when Buddy gains about 35 more pounds he will out weigh her.
