My 12 month old female has this crazy new habit. Whenever I let her lose with a 6 year old (really friendly) GSD she would run by him and growl and nip and try to get his attention. If he runs she run next to him, blocks his way and nips at him. I can easily call her off, even off leash, but I want to know if I should correct her for doing so. This is not a behaviour I would like to see in a dog. Any ideas.
If it isnt something you want to see, then by all means correct her. She is exhibiting herding instincts. The path blocking/nipping are her ways (in my opinion) of 'driving' the other dog.
I usually just call her back. i'll use the e-collar once or twice .. a few "no"s here and there should solve it... thanks for the insight.. she does however get rather hectic...
