I am, for lack of a better word, sort of a secondary owner to a terrific male GSD who needs a home for the next 6 to 8 weeks.
I have fostered him once before and would certainly keep him if my building would permit it. His primamry owner is herself trying to relocate and needs a temporary placement for "Wolfie".
He looks ferocious, with his 80% black coat and amber eyes, but he's a huge mush and loves affection. He is easy to take care of, but he is NOT particularly well trained (esp compared to some of the dogs on this board).
I've never seen him be aggresive toward any human (quite the opposite), but because I dont know his background, I would prefer to place him in a home without small kids, JUST to be EXTRA safe.
He IS dog aggresive, particularly to dogs his size and smaller. He does cohabitate very well with a female pitt/ridgeback mix, so integrating him CAN be done but is another challenge/complication.
I will pay you for your time and effort, and if you're out of the area, I will bring the dog to you.
Please call 212 330 6955 or write back for further details.
Brock,
I'm glad to hear this, it always sounded like you put a lot of time, thought, and love into your animals and you actually changed my mind a bit about people that have dogs in small homes/ apts.
Best of luck on this!

Hi Brock,
I'm sure you are finding out that it's very difficult to find a foster for a dog aggressive dog since most people who foster have dogs of their own. If you are interested in boarding, I have put my dogs in this kennel a few times and was very happy with it. They are only a few hours from Manhattan. A Dog's Home

And this is another one that's not too far and for which my daughter has good things to say. She boards her working terriers there when she travels, and has for several years. http://www.allcaringanimalcenter.com/Noah.html
Wolfie was placed in a great situation with an experienced GSD owner in Newport Rhode Island. Both canine and human are healthy and happy. Thanks to all for your kind words and assistance.
