I took my 5month old GSD to the vet for his shots - He was healthy as could be - when ariving home from the vet he vomited a watery substance - done some observations fro hour puppy seemed fined.
Fed puppy two hours later a he was eating he started coiling - observed him for quit some time everything seemed fined.
Well this morning my puppy is as sick as can be - vomited a white foamey substance and his food of the previous night -
Phoned the vet - responed could be a reaction to his injection he recieved the previous day? Took him to the vet and they diagnose him with Gastro flu - I am not sure if this is the truth or not? How can it be that he was perfectly fine before he was took to the vet the previous day and only get sick after his visit to the vet?
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
many thanks

Your pup has vaccinosis. Go to the list of articles on my web site and read what I have written.
The only shot a 5 month should have got was a rabies - NO OTHERS!!!! No matter what a vet says !!!!!
Call the Vet and tell him your dog has a serious reaction to the vaccinations he gave. Let the vet know there will be consequences if this continues. Write him a letter and send it certified mail. Then you have a paper trail.
Dont ever vaccinate this dog again. If it were my doig I would not even vaccinate it for rabies.
You will be lucky if this does not have permanently damaged your dog.
Just another example of of REDICULOUS the vaccinations are that Vets give our dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
last night I had to rush my puppy to the Animal Hospital - he refused to eat at all yesterday - refused to drink water. Bruno had to stay over night - his condition did not change at all since last night - I will be fetching my puppy tonight as the vet cannot say what is exactly wrong with him - this pissed me off sorry for that but it is costing me alot of money - is there another way? I would rather doctor him myself as the vets are not very reliable.
If there is another method please let me know as soon as possible I would grately appreciated it!!!!!
Look, Medicine is an *art*, not a science sometimes, and a definitive diagnosis isn't always possible in every illness - it just can't be done.
There could be literally *thousand's* of possible reason for your dog to have gotten ill - and if you want an absolute, 100% accurate diagnosis, just go ahead and plop down about $15,00 so they can do every test in the book to look for the cause of a short turn illness. Insist on a whole-body CT scan, a spinal tap, and upper and lower GI series, blood & urine cultures, etc., etc.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
What you spent was likely not that much, and this is no different in many ways thast how Human medicine is.
Let's take a Human ER for example.
A petient comes in with vague but not life threatening symptoms.
The first thing to decide is the petient in immediate danger - if not, you do a range of tests to rule out reasons to admit the patient to the hopspital.
If these tests come back negative ( as they often do ), you can release the patient with medications to cover the symptoms and have them follow up with their regular doctor.
And those ER patients leave and make the same complaints "they never figured out what was wrong with me" but don't take into account all the things that were ruled out of them having.
Sorry, your Vet is likely more reliable and knowledgable than you reagarding this problem and your complaint shows a lack of insight about how medicine works.
Sorry, I based my advice on medicine in developed countries and Marlon is from RSA, so my advice may not be valid for countries in the developing world.
My bad, sorry.
Well Will I was expecting ED to reply and not you!!! Read his articals on the site.... Hi Ed the vet did not want me to see Bruno at all when I was there. he mentioned that Bruno is DEPRESSED!!! He would not admit that it is vaccinosis all I got was maybe or not.. Bruno all of a sude has worms according to the VET... I will not leave this matter as is... Will keep you posted... ED reply only.
Psst....Marlon, if you want only one person to reply, why not take it to PM instead?
This is a forum, by the way - *anybody* can and will reply when you ask for comments, that's just the way forum's work...

I have a question about this and forgive me if it is a stupid one.....Why was the dog taken back to the same vet? Sounds to me that a new vet is in order especially if the vet will not admit anything and there may be certified letters and such starting?
Just a question.....
