My 4 year old german shepherd has recently gotten an eye irritation on both eyes. He has red and a brown substance on the out side of his eyes. They do not seem to be bothering him yet though. Does anyone know what this is and is it seroius enough to take him to the vet?
I don't fool around with eyes - if there is something wrong, take him to the vet. Could be Pannus, or infection, or allergies, or pink eye - but whatever it is, he will need treatment of some sort, can't do that without knowing what it is, and that takes a vet. No guessing with the eyes, IMO.
