Treat them like they are animals.
Train them like they are animals.
Love them like they are people. |

"I committed this arson for good reasons. I learned very early that petitioning, protesting and other methods that did not include direct action were either too slow or completely ineffective." -Chris McIntosh at sentencing hearing
He's in jail for 8 years because he burnt down a McDonalds in Seattle. Apparently arson wasn't very effective either, cuz there's still 6 McDonalds locations within 10 minutes from my house <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The good news is that these type of losers are *very* popular with their fellow inmates - they end up someones "girl friend" very quickly and up being worth a lot of packs of cigarettes.....
And it couldn't happen to a nicer group of idiots.

I firmly, deeply believe that nature provides all that we need and all that we should use. Obviously that means eating meat, wearing fur, making & using leather tooled products, working animals - sledding, tracking, etc. I don't think these people realize just how much their lives are affected by the use of animals. I am willing to bet one would find leather shoes & belts in at least some of their closets...
Oh, so, Will, are you saying cigarettes are worth more in prison than say, Ramen noodles?

My cousin has been a direct target of one of these groups. She is the Animal Control Officer in a town in NJ. Her job was to clean out a colony of ferral cats. It wasn't easy to begin with. But to add to her issues, there is a group of women who feed these animals. Not only was she personally assaulted, she received the 'death messages' at work, at her home, on her car, she had dead cats on her doorstep and in her mailbox. It really makes you wonder what these people think about. At first she took it with a grain of salt, until the messages turned up on her doorstep. She was scared to death, she thought about quitting her job and moving out of state. I felt really bad for her, she was afraid to go out of her house....'they' knew who she was but she didn't know who 'they' where. She went though a pretty rough time with this group, then it stopped, the town started to impose some heavy fines for those who fed the cats. She lived though hell for over a year...these people don't give up.

Wait a second, she found dead cats on her doorstep? Does that not violate what these nuts believe? I mean, dead is dead whether the animal is euthanized at a shelter or killed by someone else. Of course, I am pointing out the obvious in that these people are a real contradiction.

I would assume the cats were found dead, not killed by them in a subtle yet stupid "this is what you do to these animals!" kinda statement.

That is was my family's thought, but the family is a 'hen party'....all eldery woman! I had a real tough time with the thought that someone would pick up a deceased animal and drive with in to someone's house to leave it on their doorstep, no one liked my suggestion that the cat was hit by a car and dragged itself there. The one in her mailbox blew my theory. These cats never came with notes attached....so no one ever really knew the true meaning. But, it was well implied. It was just not very pleasant for her, someone had spray painted cat killer on her new car, letters of protest were written about her.....she was personally attacked for trying to do her job (by a group of women who did not have to work for a living) From what she said, 'they' knew who was doing this to her but being they were never caught in the act nothing could be done. It's really hard to understand the group's point and the reasoning behind the attacks on my cousin. But, it made sense to them and they had the "right" to do all these things to her. It is kinda scary to even think what goes on in a mind like this and you have to wonder at what point would they cross the line to get their point across.
One of the reasons why my cousin had to clean up the colony was due to rabies, ferral cats huge health problem. I often wondered if the women who spend their time tormenting my cousin, had a child that was exposed to rabies by a ferral cat, if they would have changed their cause!
