You all are missing the boat entirely. Just buy a dog that compliments your wardrobe, and vice versa. For example, I wear almost exclusively black for more formal functions in which dog hair would be considered a faux pas...therefore, I have a black dog. Duh.

Yeah..........my dog who died in 11/04 was black, and my clothes were chosen to match. Now I have a fawn and a brown, so I can't go anywhere where there's good lighting.
Well, Connie, I guess that's just the price one pays for poor planning!
Most places with good lighting aren't that much fun, anyway....
Personally, I have thought of just spraying glue all over my household surfaces and having *felt* walls and floors.
The good thing is I am *rarely* the person who drives OTHER people to lunch Nobody wants to get in MY car.
Don't waste your money, there are tons of 'new products' that hit the shelf for spring....all well over priced. In my short time at the retail store, a lot of people questioned the product(s) but did not buy. I have never a review good or bad on these types of products, they didn't move off the shelf.
It is true, after a while you don't even notice the hair. You buy clothes to match your dog...but I do the black with contrasting "fur trim" statement. When you totally give up....you decorate your house to match your dog...my house is now totally Golden in color. I find my pry is much easier to deal with....she blows her coat....and I just rake her.
You can add to your list of dog hair removal needs....one of those black rubber brushes...it doesn't even have a name on it. It works great on furniture, clothes, the car. I dampen mine, I think it works better. Damp sponges work almost as good. Those silly black as seen on TV brooms, they are pretty much the same as the brush, they work really good on tile. Pergo and short plush carpet.
By the way, you can't train you dog not to shed. I had someone ask me that one time....LOL!
