I have a 10 month old GSD. She is fed raw. We are working on obedience work. I will not be using her for any sport. Possibly just AKC obedience. To help her burn off energy we play ball twice a day. I only allow her 10 throws, and then that is it. She is totally ball crazy and would play for hours, but she's still young and I do not want to overstress her hips. I began noticing small drips of blood on my white carpet after we played (no comments on white carpet with a black GSD--it's there, I have to live with it for now LOL)After thouroughly checking her over I discovered sores about an inch below the point of her hocks, they are about dime size, open scrapes. If she was a horse I'd buy splint boots for her, but I just wondered if anyone has seen this or has any advice. Thanks for any help or advice.
No biting, licking or scratching. They are just there. Seem to open up every time we go out to play fetch. Yes, hair should be there. If you look at a dog from the back, from the point of the hock to the foot, they are right in the middle of that area, Halfway between hock and foot. I haven't read the links yet, going to do that now. Thanks
