I would read the book but I'd probably drive myself crazy thinking "well if he did this n this then he wouldnt have that problem" etc etc etc... it drives me nuts when people I know tell me things about their dog or their old dog that I know could have been fixed with a few training techniques or are behaviors resulting from something entirely different to what they think it was... but having to keep my mouth shut because I don't feel like educating everyone all the time.
I doubt he is too sad about his dog's misbehavior with that many weeks on the NY Times bestseller list.

The guy was a first time dog owner. Give him a break! I'm sure that even you, in your novice days, made some mistakes. Well this guy was able to laugh about it& also talented enough to write a funny book about it. Get the book, then lets talk!
I am in my novice days ,and i make a ton of mistakes but i wouldn't read the book, why waste the time reading about an out of control dog, i've got my own ,
AL
I'm not saying it's not cute or not funny or not worth reading, I'm saying that it's my mentality to want to correct people when they do something I know is wrong... a few years ago I coulda read it n been like aww that's so cute (ha) or enjoyed it... but now that I know people who raise a dog for 13 years should be able to know better and address problems as they arise, i'd read it with more of a "how would I address this problem" mentality rather than a "ha ha that was funny" mentality. I didn't mean it to be critical of his writing or critical of his dog experience, I'm happy that there's people like him out there who'll let their dog get away with stuff instead of beating the heck outta their dog with a bat because the dog chewed the couch

yeah, unfortunately, so many people just get rid of the dog, thinking it was a bad dog, instead of realizing they (the human) are the problem. The more I know of people, the better I like dogs. (was it Will Rogers who said that?)
