From Department of Human Services "To us, discipline means guidance, working with children on their strengths or showing them that some things could be done differently."
This is BULL!! It works in a very limited number of cases, kids who actually want help, whjat about the ones who are just plain bad?
I remember when discipline was a smack round the lug or I got a slipper off my ass when i was really bad so I wouldn't do it again.
They've tried that approach in this country and you know where we are now??? We've the WORST violent crime record IN THE WORLD. Kids go around in gangs and beat old people (and young too I might add) almost to death cos they think it's "fun".
Man I'd like to smack that dad though! Maybe he's the one needing Discipline and education! That was a stoopid thing to do.

John
I agree John. Yes, kids need to be spanked when disobedient,
but we as parents/guardians need our facitiles about us when
we do it. I mean, even the bible says if you "spare the rod,
you spoil the child."
All corrections for your kids needs to be done - NOT in anger -
but out of love.
Dog training tools need to be used on dogs.
I can remember getting more than my fair shair of beatings, some deserved, some not, and I'm no worse for the wear. Looking back on it I find it kind of funny However, I don't agree with it. Just like over correcting dogs can have an adverse effect on their psyche if they don't have the mental fortitude to take it, the same can be said for children. If you look at the bad kids, you're more than likely going to look past them to the parents and you can plainly see where the problems truly originated from. Remembering all the problem kids and people I've known over time, they're parent's created the issues one way or another. I'm not judging that because each parent only has their experience to draw on. Some can move past the way they were raised, and some can't. Shock collars are a bit much though, (to say the least) you're right.
LMAO Ingrid I so agree with you. When it's legal to use shock collars on them I might consider having one.
