i've used them on adults and they seem to like them. however, i started to look at how they were stored in the pet shop. where i shop, they were in a barrel for who knows how long and i have no idea what has been sprayed around them or what. i would imagine if they were platic wrapped they are probably ok, but i would not buy out of a barrel like i did. they are tons more cleaner chew toys out there. just my opinion.

Recap of all I have read: If the dog chews away steadily on them and doesn't ingest a big hunk of the chewed-down remainder, then a lot of vet sites maintain that they're probably OK. However, they have a high fat content, making them unsuitable for a dog on calorie/fat restriction (especially, for example, a dog with pancreas problems). They might be too small and thin for a big dog who's a gulper.
