I have had a problem with my K9 on stairs he came that way,
walks very slow on them and when he gets near the bottom he jumps off.i started healing him on stairs and he would do ok but be very cautious and again leap of the bottom 3, going up seems also a problem he get very low and walks up fast if i allow him to.so again i started with healing him on the stairs and took it a bit farther by doing hits on them he would bite mostly legs and if the decoy got low enough he would bite the sleeve but when brought up high he would let go and bite a leg. We work in a prison and stairs do come into play more often than not so, does anybody have any ideas.
thanks

Mine had the same thing on slick floors more than stairs. what i did was fire him up either with a toy or a bite, Have him go up and down the stairs. It is something you will have to do a bunch before he gets comfortable. I would do all building searches on slick floors with him being rewarded with a bite or civil agitation. The stairs was another issue I had but not as bad as slick floors. It took numerous training sessions to get him comfortable. Now he will shoot up and down the stairs like nothing. You have to walk him up and down alot, at the end of the stairs reward him with praise and a toy if you use one.
