I'm looking for any information about the following people. I've seen some video's listed from each and am wondering if they would be good to add to my training collection.
Ivan Balabanov, Joanne Fleming-Plumb, and Gottfried Dildei and Randy Hare.
i have worked with ivan, and read his book, advanced schutzhund. he is very experienced in schutzhund and he has a strong understanding of dog psychology. he is, for me, similar to helmut raiser in his thinking.
joanne is about obedience, mostly american ring.
gottfried is a very experienced schutzhund trainer. he has strong opinions that not every one agrees with, but he has produced some good results with his methods, so you should see for yourself.
Ivan's tapes were very good but require watching a couple times to really get the most of the information. If you search the forum with Ivan's first or last name, you will come up with several topics discussing his tapes and methods.
I have Joannes tracking tapes and felt they were excellent. Very well put together and the information is easy to follow and understand. The method itself is also good.
I have seen both tapes, and as with everything else, there are going to be things you like, and things you don't. If you can get them both, then I would. Far better to snag as many ideas from as many places as possible.
I did like both of the tapes.
