Malik is just over a year old, and I noticed a week ago or so (never did before) that his left paw is crooked. If he is facing me, the right one is nice and straight, the left one takes a small angle from the wrist bone down, and the paw iself sits sideways at 11 o'clock (his time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> ) . I paid attention when he walks/run, and that paw acts a little different. Now he dosn't limp or anything, I don't think this is anything new, I think he's grown that way, but I wonder if I should be concerned at all. I don't plan to show him, just do competition.
Thanks
Aude
I am a vet. tech. and I recommend taking your dog to your vet for x-rays and a comprehensive physical. If you are wanting to use your dog in physical competition, it will be imperative to get everything cleared. If one part of the dog is unsound, you are opening yourself up for a world of trouble. If you have to get the dog put under sedation for the x-ray, you may want to PennHip or OFFA his hips, and possibly his elbows for any problems. Good luck!
Malik is back from the vet, was sedated but is doing good, only he looks at me as if I were some odd creature. Vet is fedexing xrays to an orthopedic vet, as she thought his left elbow showed some "fuzziness" on the xray, which could be a sign of elbow displasia. We want to be sure of him being fine, so that's the next step. And she had to xray both sides for comparison, total cost $480, including other vet fee. Yikes, but he's our kiddo, so we don't count.
As a note, we know his hips are fine as he got xrayed when neutered and result were excellent.
I hope this is nothing.

I hope so too. Good work, to get it scheduled and done so fast.
